with 8 days before i leave for Glamis i decided i should finally get the ol RZR1 ready for dune season.
i have a short list od items i want to do before i hit the sand and started with the install of my much needed larger rear sproket. i am going from the stock SR1 45 tooth to a 68 tooth aluminum that i had made earlier his year.
i had to cut out and relocate some frame crossbars but nothing too serious. i also had to notch the frame for the chain clearance. yes the sproket will hang down 1.5" but i will makea guard and weld it to the bottom of the frame. this car is dunes only so i dont care if it hits the sand.
i have a few front sprokets ranging from 16 to 12 tooth which will get me aywhere from 4.25 to 5.67: 1 ratio. i was told by a few different busa buggy builders i should be around 4.7 to 5.1 ratio.
time will tell. here are some progress pics.
