Whew, wet weekend! Got out to a couple other spots, but due to weather I only got pics of two of them.
Here is a map with each spot:
FR210 (GPS 34N 25.847' ; 110W 38.641')
1st Spot (34N 25.849'; 110W 38.953')~.5 miles from turn off at 260. Cross 1st cattle gaurd and on the right (next to a corral). Maybe 4-6 TH's
2nd spot (34N 25.840'; 110W 39.300')is ~ 1 mile in and turn to the left. In a bunch of trees. Sorry no pic, raining like MAD!!!! About 4-6 TH
3rd Spot (34N 26.139'; 110W 39.973')~2 miles in (believe someone mentioned this). Cross the 2nd cattle gaurd and on the right. Nice area, down off the road. Again Sorry no pics due to rain.
*** Note on all the above. Spot #2 and #3 had people camping this weekend. FR210 was pretty busy (even raining the road was dusty?!?) when I was out there (About 2PM Sat.) and this wasn't a big holiday weekend. Someone would need to go early and secure these sites early. Also the turn off is ~10 miles west of Bison Ranch or ~20 miles west of Aripine turn on 260, farther if your not comfortable riding down the road. Also note that you'd be turning left onto 260 to get to Bison Ranch/Aripine (Race) and 260 will be VERY busy on PITP weekend. Could be an issue ****
These next two are off FR86 (Black Canyon Road) (34N 25.898'; 110W 36.075') Just entering Heber turn right off 260. Road was pretty washboarded going in.
Spot #4 (34N 25.899'; 110W 36.074'). ~1.4 miles in. Just over cattle guard and to the left. Pretty large area, most use this as an unload spot to access Black Canyon Road by ATV:
Spot # 5 (34N 24.868'; 110W 36.759') ~2.6 miles in- No pic due to heavy rain. One guy camping here on Saturday. Nice and open area and room for maybe 8-12 TH.
*** Note on above. FR86 is pretty heavy use ATV/SxS/Trucks. Lots of trails through here and historic sites (pictographs, Pioneer sites). Could be crowded PITP weekend and someone would need to secure sites early for camping. ~5 miles west of Bison Ranch and ~15 miles from Aripine turn ***
Now I got GPS for the earlier spots...here is the map:
Turn off 260 to spots 1-3 (34N 23.588'; 110W 30.905)
Spot #2 (34N 22.663'; 110W 31.020')
Spot #1 (34N 22.497'; 110W 31.016')
Spot #3 (34N 22.334'; 110W 31.046')
Deck Wash Road Turn from 260 (34N 22.411'; 110W 27.612')
Spot #4 (34N 20.973'; 110W 28.077')
Might be able to go up one more time before PITP, not sure though. Couple others were up there this weekend...any input??? Be ready for rain...man was it nice though!!! Coming from 115 to 90ish and rain (70 when raining) was wonderful.
