Official UTVUnderground 2013 LOORRS So-Cal Regional RD2 Photos & Results

Thanks for the pics you guys!!

Just wanted to say it was really fun racing with everyone yesterday! We all packed up and headed out to Elsinore Friday after work, and got to the track just in time for Jason to spend a couple of hourse helping out a few fellow racers, and get himself strapped in for the heat races.

I haven't been to Elsinore since last year, and last time I was there in the SR1 I never made the main race (battery shorted out). Jason and I weren't able to make practice on Friday, either, so we just figured we'd go out in the heat race and get used to the track again. Turns out we got the two fastest times, after I almost ate it pretty hard on the big sail-away table after the step-down - lol! I forget sometimes that I have a little-bitty wheelbase in that SR1...

It was awesome to see so many SR1 / UTV entries in our field....over 20 entries, I believe, not counting the XP class!

The main was fun for me while it lasted. With the inversion, Jason and I would start in row three, with plenty of trashtalk going on between us - haha! I wanted to get out in clean air as quickly as I could, so at the start i just beelined it between everyone and chased Gary down for first place. I knew Jason was going to try to do the same thing, but I wanted to get to clean air first. I made the pass on Gary (whose new SR1 looks great!) and was in the lead and trying to increase my lead with every lap. I felt some pretty serious vibrations in the air, but figured it was just mud crammed into my wheel.....but nope. About lap 5, I came into turn three, and found myself stopped suddenly, and facing the k-rail, minus a rear wheel!

So, I spent the rest of that race on the infield watching Jason and Gary battle it out for the win. The tow off of the track, backwards, was actually pretty exciting, too - lol!

So, that wraps up Round 2 of the SR1 Championship Series, as well as the So Cal Lucas Oil Regional Series! The track was fun - the rythm section was my favorite part....the crowd was great, the pits were packed....everything about yesterday was awesome!

It was good to see old race friends and make some new ones....as well as see alot of my fellow LOORRS racers out there mixing it up as well!

Thanks for the pics, Joey/UTVUnderground! Can't wait to do this all again, next time! Congrats to the winners of all the UTV classes yesterday! I hope to see these classes continuing to grow and grow!!

Thanks for the write up and pics Joey!

This was my first trip to Lake Elsinore since the old Lucas track and could not believe how fun it was.The step up jump and the rythm section where a blast!I cant wait to comeback for the shoot out.

I'm not sure why they didn't seperate the classes on the results but it shows me 4th with the SR1 class when I was 1st in Unlimited class. It was fun racing with the SR1 cars even though the roost off of them was nasty after they watered the track.

I didnt get there in time to practice so qualifying was my first time on the track and I managed to qualify first in class and started first unlimited behind the SR1 cars.I battled with a couple of XP's while also dealing with SR1 cars before putting some time on my fellow class mates.I made my way up to 3rd overall with my 999 Muzzy motor before a radiator filled with mud caused some heating issues and I backed it down for the last lap.

I am going to try to make more of these so cal races and hope to see more great turnouts like this one.Congrats to everyone who won or just went out and had a great time!

Thanks Corry,I didn't realize that was you with the missing wheel until Jeff told me.Thats too bad but I am sure you will get them next time. Also thanks to Jason for hooking me up with a throttle cable.

Thanks for the write ups, comments and photos. Some of you traveled up to 6 hours to make it to the Lucas Oil Regional in So Cal and we hope the trip was well worth it. We had an amazing weekend with over 3000 people through the gate at 180 race entries! Thanks to all that supported and we look forward to seeing you at future races.

Thanks Again Ken Johnson, Lee and Poppy Perfect

And a huge thanks to our Regional Staff for making the event happen.
