Official Thread for the DWT PURE "350" Presented by SXSPerformance.com

Racing in our PURE SIDE-X-SIDE OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES is more fun than a barrel of monkeys sipping on a Red Bull cocktail!

This next event is going to be great and remember Bone Stock Classes only go six (6) laps while all others go the full nine (9).
Those of you who are just getting into the sport and just bought a new SXS/UTV, just add safety equipment and do nothing to the car. Join us in the Bone Stock Class and experience the best series for SXS/UTVs in the country.

Moreover, be sure to make the Aug 3, Saturday 9 a.m. Qualifying for starting positions. It'll be on a 2-mile track in front of everyone so you can see from beginning to end. Bring cameras and videos. You'll love it.
And we do have a "Special Award" for the TOP QUALIFIER in both the Production/Unlimited Classes and Bone Stock Classes."

Speaking of Awards, take a look at what we have in store for you courtesy of our sponsor, LAWRENCE EQUIPMENT. Simple magnificent! Every race they come up with absolutely great awards.

Go to Off-Road Racing - Dirt Racing DESERT RACING - Alta Vista Events - OFF-ROAD & DIRT RACING for more details and remember to sign up by Thursday, August 1 at 6 p.m. to avoid paying a "late fee."
Every bit you save you can buy more event T-shirts. They are terrific and "must-haves"!

I will definitely be racing some of your races. If my car was ready I would be racing there instead of the Vegas to Reno. The guys I talk to that have raced say your races are top notch and still very affordable. Keep it up, your good reputation is spreading!

Lou's races are FUN, low key, with lots of recognition for us guy/girls that are just starting out in this desert racing venture. His organization is very friendly and approachable and affordable. We get a lot of miles in on a race weekend and that helps make the decision to keep coming back and trying to get our other friends involved.... Unlimited pre-running, friendly atmosphere, other teams rooting you on, it's an awesome time.

Rugged Radios, thanks for the plug and spreading the word around. WE really appreciate it.

Everyone is going to have a great time this weekend.

So that everyone knows. We are featuring for the first time "Qualifying" for starting positions. Everyone has a chance to qualify and it will be right in front of all spectators around the main pits.
This is the first time for this and we think racers and crews are going to love it./ So bring your cameras and camcorders because you'll have plenty of spots to record and take photos.

Saturday, Aug 3 - Tentative schedule:
9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. - Everyone practices on the 2-mile qualifying course.
9:45 a.m. the Qualifying course is closed
10:00 a.m. first qualifier off the line. Only one vehicle qualifies at a time.

Top Qualifier award at the Mandatory Driver's Meeting 3 p.m.

11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tech & Contingency

4 p.m. Start of the PURE 350

Here is the "Final" course map for the DWT PURE "350" Presented by SXSPerformance.com - It's a god one!

We tweaked it a bit and although it should be faster (rated at 6.8), it's got segments that you have to be really, really careful. Go to our site: www.averacing.com -- download the Google Earth ".kml" file to take a "virtual tour" of the course.

Pre-running starts Friday, August 2, from 12 Noon until Midnight. We suggested doing at least one lap during the late afternoon and one at night (race conditions).

We also have the "P350" Qualifying course (in red) for you to check out.
Qualifying starts Saturday, Aug 3 at 9 a.m. with open practice until 9:45 a.m.
First car to qualify starts at 10 a.m.

"Top Qualifier" Award will be presented at the Driver's Meeting, 3 p.m.

Race starts at 4 p.m.

Have fun. You're going to love this one!

Looking forward to coming out and spectating this weekend... Should have the maverick ready to go for the September race, really like the layout you guys are doing with these races! Is the sept. race going to go into the night also? Want to set up lights now if it is...

For those of you who have not made the move yet. Sign up today for the DWT PURE 350 by 6 p.m. and pay the regular price. Afterwards it goes up.

What could be better?:
Fuel in Cal City is $3.49 for Regular
Temperatures on Saturday will get as high as 93 degrees. (Bring a light jacket for the evening and night.)
Course is rated at 6.8 - Fabulous!
Qualifying for starting positions at 9 a.m.
A fun day in the Cal-City desert. And the City welcomes you with open arms. When was the last time you've heard of that from any City?

It doesn't get any better! Well maybe it could get better if gas was $1.69 where it should be all the time and we had 100 SXS/UTV entries. Hahaha!

Awesome event Lou, it was my first time being involved in in one of your events and we will be back hopefully with another car at the 250.

Glad you enjoyed it Brian and had fun too.The next event (Pure "250" - September 27-29) will be totally different in many ways, including the course. We try not to use the same route at least for a year.

Thank you for the kind comments.
