Miller Jeep Trail run to Mt. Pinos

Cool - Party at Mr Bad House after the ride ;-)

Do you have room for our RVs and THs ;-)

Actually its at the in-laws and there is tons of space for rvs and we could build a Rhino track on their property at the same time! Bring you shovels! :D

Dave,

I see two forks on the road to camp the 1st one look like it will take you to some Ranch Houses (Red) ?

Is this right or do we take 1st Left then nexr right (Green) ;-)

Love Yea ;-)

Cisco, the "green" path is exactly the route. Road that goes to Ranch house is gated off and not the right direction. Those are great pics of the turn off roads you are posting!! How did you get those?

This is kinda a hijack but we will be doing shuttles on DH bikes this Sunday if anyone is interested...
Sounds like a good time but I will have to pass. That is one of my favorite DH rides. We are headed to Johnson Valley (The Hammers) to do some camping / riding. Check this out my son wants to bring his Mtn bike and try to find some lines down some of the Hammers. What a nut !!

Sorry you cant make it. Have fun in Johnson Valley. Maybe we'll catch you the next time around. Be safe, Dave

I finished my recon on the Miller Jeep trail today. I did a ride up there and made it about 2/3rds up towards Alamo, before I ran out of time and had to head back home. All I can say is, If you can't make this trip, then put this one on your bucket list!! This trail had me "white knuckled" from the get go. There are some insane climbs, cliff side driving, and nasty technical stuff. And I didn't even finish the trail. I ran into several groups of 4wheel drive goups and dirt bikers. A couple of the bikers fell down and was having a hard time. I found a side trail called "yellow jacket trail", which was nuts too!!

Here is one of the final water crossings before the massive ascent to Alamo. The back country here is awesome!!

We took the Yellow Jacket trail, which had some off-camber, rock, river crossing stuff. We had to stop as we ran into a local 4wheel club pulling fallen trees off the trail. We ran into them later, and they said the trail was all cleared.

The trail we just came off of squeezed Stumpy's bladder, so we had to stop and let him pee....

This is where the Cottonwood trail splits off to the left. We go straight ahead for some more off camber climbing until we reach the start of the actual Miller section

June 11th is the date! Come put your driving skills to the test, trust me, you will need them. Here is a view from to crest of a mountain, looking out at the final leg,....the Miller section, featuring Kabob hill and the Rock garden..

Here is where we stopped. I think this is the final river crossing. Beyond this river, who knows what adventure awaits as you climb toward the top!!

For those of you who are bringing your toy haulers and Mo-Ho's, here is the dump station at the Flying J truck stop. This place is literally right next to the freeway on the way up and back to the campground. Bad news is, they charge $10 to drop off your poo......

Here is the river crossing you will take while driving to the trailhead/camp area. Beyond this river crossing, there are only a couple small dips in the road, but nothing to worry about

For those who are anxious to bring in their rigs, we found this guy camping today in the upper part of the staging area.........you guys can do it!!

Considerations for this ride:
1. Tire plugs or spare tire (Crazy ass mountain goat rock climbing sections)
2. Your brakes need to be working VERY WELL!! Not kidding
3. Spare drive belt (Again, sustained slow, off-camber climbing, frequently)
4. Do not do this ride if you have a fear of heights and narrow mule trails)
5. Be prepared to share the road.
5. Jacket, as there are different temperature zones.
6. Clean pair of underwear

Here is your sign....
