I am new to the forum and am not quite sure if this is a topic appropriate for this specific forum and sub section, tell me if isn't and I can fix it.
My Grandparents have a small hobby farm and have been using a golf cart to get around and pull small trailers for the last few years. Recently, my Grandpa crashed it and the frame bent. He brought it in to check if it was safe, and since the wheels are still aligned, it should be safe enough. However, ever since the brakes haven't been dependable and it randomly accelerates even when the accelerator isn't pressed down I would like it to be replaced soon. I am sure these are both issues that can be fixed, but all of these little fixes are adding up in cost. Anyways, I am looking at vehicles that are more designed for this kind of work.
Here are the requirements for a farm vehicle:
-Cheap to own: not to thirsty and must be somewhat cheap to repair at local small motor shops
-Gasoline: Diesel is not an option for it is loud and expensive to fix (plus fuel is harder to come by), and electric isn't possible due to lack of reliable electricity
-Under $3500, under $2500 would be much better and I could spend $4000 if the extra money is worth it
-Hitch: Must be able to pull a standard trailer
-Seats: Must have two seats, A QUAD ISN'T AN OPTION, MUST BE EASY TO GET ON TO
-Bed: Must have at least a small bed that can hold tools such as loppers and a chainsaw
4 wheel drive isn't required but would be nice to have. Power doesn't matter too much as anything should be an improvement over a golf cart and the golf cart could do almost everything they needed. Finally, is it best to get another golf cart and save some money? However, unless you think it is a good idea, I would like to avoid this as the engine compartment is always getting filled with dust due to lack of an engine cover from the bottom. Plus, the ground clearance isn't great and towing capabilities are lacking.
