Idle goes up when I engage AWD

I have noticed the last few times driving my RZR that when I switch on the AWD my engine revs up about 1000 to 1500 RPMs. Is this normal or is something wrong. Wanted to know before I started chasing electrical problems.

Check the electrical plug going to your front diff that engages it and see if it is clean and tight. It sounds like you're getting additional current draw of some sort.

Just a swag as I have never had that issue either on my 2010-S.

Hope it helps.

When's the last time you cleaned your air filter ?

I had a similar problem recently and that cleared it up right away.

Mine was idling high after running for a llittle bit. Filter was pretty bad. After I cleaned it the problem went away. So I guess restricted airflow could cause high idle. That's about all I got for ya.

Good luck

When you push the AWD button it is grounding the front diff which completes a circuit and locks the diff. I was having some issues with mine and I hooked up an aftermarket switch and then grounded the front diff by itself instead of through the wiering harness and it works fine. I didn't have a idle issue but if you isolate the system it might solve the problem.
