rule of thumb is about a 1/2 mile per watt. Obviously terrain can affect range, but you're looking at about 2.5 miles

what you have pictured there is one of our intercom kits, that's what allows riders to talk to each other within the same vehicle. But to answer your question, yes, if you have a 50 watt radio in another car, as long as you're both on the same frequency you will be able to communicate

New Rugged Product: ICOM 50 Watt VHF Mobile Radio for $275

The Icom F5021 is an economic mobile radio used for keeping in radio contact with your riding group or race team. Considered to be suited for base/chase use, this affordable 50-Watt radio is not suitable as a race radio. It's ideal for recreational use while out on the trails with your buddies or finding out what's being cooked for dinner back home.

What's the pricing like? Might want to upgrade from my handheld soon. Especially since I have a spot for it in my dash mount.

about half a mile per watt, so you're looking at around 25 miles (give or take depending on environment)

Clicking the image will bring you to the product page with more details and photos. Our introductory price is $200
