handheld 2 ways in Ocotillo

With the Rugged stuff you can also get headsets or helmet kits and the battery powered intercom. RRP150.

That what I use .

We run the 50w rugged units in our car and we have several bikers in our group that use the HX370S with the helmet setup. they get out of range pretty quick in OW they can almost always hear us in the 50w car units but if they want to talk to us at distance they ride up to the hill tops. I got our HX370S at the sand show not sure what antenna it has but it could use a better one.

The Yaesu FT-60 is a great 5W handheld. It is dual band, so you get both VHF/UHF (the HX-370 is only VHF). The advantage is you can use it as a scanner at races (NASCAR, SCORE, MORE, SNORE, LOORS, HDRA, BITD) as most race channels are UHF, whereas pit channels are VHF.

You WILL need the programming software to push frequencies into the radio.
