Frame straightening in So. Cal ???

Hey Guys,

After my crash last weekend the front end of my car is a little tweaked and I don't want to start messing around with a porto-power as it seems like it needs to be moved out and forward. I was wondering if anyone knows of a shop with a frame straightening table that could fix it right? I was thinking some sort of collision center would be best but I'm sure there are many places around Orange County. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How bad is the frame? It seems you may have cut out the bent portion and re-sectioned? Or have it gusseted/reinforced in those areas once it is straightened out.

Might want to seek out a fabricator. Someone that builds race UTVs.

I know the guy that just built my cage for my XP does a lot of race builds.

Yeah, I tend to agree. If the frame has been "crumpled" back due to a frontal impact, the chances are good that you will need some re-sectioning and gusseting work to be done in that area. Maybe a body guy can chime in, but I think frame straightening machines are more adapt to "twisting" frames into shape, as opposed to "stretching" them there. They also straighten by factory specifications based on reference holes placed in the chassis at the time of manufacture. To my knowledge, UTV's are not manufactured to such exacting tolerances, and do not have dimensional reference holes like automobiles do, nor manufacturers dimensional tolerance data for that matter, regarging the trueness of their frames. Heck, take a look at this brand new, never assembled, factory delivered UTV frame (that I am trying to find time to build upon!). Sight the horizontal comparison between the top square cross tube in the front, and the similar one in the rear of the frame. Look at the twist the chassis has. This is considered acceptable manufacturing tolerances in the UTV world. You never know, maybe this can be an opportune time to make accomodations to avoid this mishap in the future?

James and Johnny over at IMG should be able to help you, they squared up Brandon Blyths SR1 after a tumble through the moguls at SpeedWorld and that car was pretty tweaked.

Thanks guys, I'll hit up James and John and see what they say. It's only slightly bent maybe a 1/8 - 1/4 inch in and whats more bothersome is the plate that holds the steering rack seems a bit twisted from the arm mount being pushed in slightly. I'm sure this thing wasn't all that straight to begin with and I'm just being hypercritical. My car is a full tube chassis car so I figured some dessert racers or roundy round guys would have experience with fixing little tweaks because it definitely isn't bad enough to cut off and start over.
