One of my good friends, Loyd Waters, suffered a tragic loss almost 3 years ago. His son (Cody) was diagnosed with a brain tumor and passed away after a valiant fight. The Waters family are off roaders like us on this forum and started the CodyWatersfoundation to honor his memory and his love of offroading.
The actual charity ride is Saturday, March 10, 2012 @ 9:30am, from Cal City to the Jawbone Canyon Store and the cost per adult is $60. With the $60 you get to go on the ride, have a tri-tip sandwich lunch and a t-shirt. There is also a raffle (I won a 3 night stay at the MGM Grand Signature Suites last year). There is also usually a big party that spills over to the various camping circles.
People will start camping on Thursday and a group of my friends will start camping on Friday and leave on Sunday. Before and after the "ride" you can take advantage of all that the California City desert has to offer.
