Can-Am Can-Am Commander 1000 Clutch Kit from Dalton Industries

UTVGuide.Net
This new clutch kit makes it possible to have one kit that suits a lot of different situations. Instead of having many different clutch kits for different tire sizes, terrain conditions, or to help compensate for high elevation power losses, this new kit covers a broad range of tuning challenges. You can tune for better belt grip and improved performance by using different combinations in the kit. A new set of adjustable flyweight lever arms were built for this application. There is a "set-up guide" included to optimize the CVT calibration for most common situations, and you even have a choice of engagement rpm for your preferred riding situations. Having options and tuneability means you still have the correct kit if you change tires, do modifications, etc.

Also included in the instructions is a "General Overview of Model and CVT Tuning Guide" that may help clarify the way the system operates, the tuning components, and some basic clutch tuning for those unfamiliar.

I've got the Dalton kit in my RZR and love it...definitely helped with the low speed control in the rocks!

So what's in the kit? I already have the DBO 800 and changed to the tan primary spring. How is this kit different? Btw, mine is a Rhino with 800 Rotax in it.

here was your question answer from Dalton...sorry for the delay!!

"Hi Joey,

The new flyweights that were designed for this kit are different than any of the existing parts we had for the Outlander models....even though some of the existing adjustable weights we had could be adjusted up to similar "grams"...it was not relevant,or as suitable for the applcation...we have designed a flyweight specific for the application and to work in conjunction with the Commander. The Commander is a 1000 cc,it has different upshift requirements ...it is not an 800 ATV,it is heavier, it often has two people,...Even some of the similar components (like springs) do not even engage at similar rpms as they would in an outlander application, because the flyweights and the rest of the calibration is different.
There are two optional engagement springs in the kit for the primary, and the secondary spring is included as well.

I guess if the one you are inquiring for was a 1000cc with similar final drive ratios, etc it may be something to look at,but some testing would be required for accuracy of calibration.

Hope this helps."
