DYLAN WINBURY
1st Place
Dylan Winbury missed Friday’s practice due to his starter breaking on the line. The team was able to get it fixed in time for Saturday’s qualifying where he qualified fourth driving the Wagon Burners #469 JR2 Kart. In Saturday’s Round 11, Winbury started on the front row in first position. He immediately dropped back to third where he remained until his hub broke
and the #459 made a last lap pass putting Winbury in 4th at the checkered flag. “I was just happy that it didn't take me out of the raceâ€, Dylan said.
In Sunday’s qualifying for Round 12, Winbury qualified in first but due to the inversion started the Main on the third row in sixth position. After the green flag dropped he quickly worked his way up to first by lap 8 where he remained until the checkered flag putting him on top of the podium. After the checkered flag his chain broke and they had to push his car to the podium. Dylan said "Thank god it broke after the checkered flag. The track was tough and hard on the car but overall I had a lot of fun.â€
JAYDN WINBURY
Two Top Ten
Jaydn Winbury in the Wagon Burners #202 JR1 Kart was tenth in practice on Friday. In Saturday’s qualifying the #202 was tenth. In Saturday’s main event Jaydn battled hard, finishing the race in 8th giving him a top ten finish.
Sunday’s Round 12 was a repeat of Saturday’s Round 11 with Jaydn qualifying tenth and again finishing with an 8th place top ten. Jaydn said "I liked the track. My favorite part was the big downhill.â€
BRYAN OSBORN
First Pro Podium
As the Superlites headed out on the track for Friday’s practice, Osborn was excited to see how the truck would handle on the new track. He ran 5 practice laps and ended up fifth out of a field of ten. Later that day, qualifying for Saturday’s main event, Osborn was seventh. Osborn said, “The #54 felt great, the new track is so sickâ€.
In Saturday’s Round 11 the #54 of Osborn was supposed to start on the pole with the inversion, but due to a technicality the #54 was sent to the back of the field for the start of the race. Osborn slowly and methodically worked his way up through the pack; ninth at the end of lap 1, eighth by lap 3, seventh by lap 8, fourth by lap 10, third by lap 11. At one point as he came off the ski jump, landing on his rear bumper hurting his back. Osborn was able to shake it off holding on to 3rd position until he crossed the checkered flag putting him, the #54, Black Rhino and his sponsors on the podium for Round 11.
Osborn had qualified fourth for Sunday’s Round 12 on Saturday. Osborn was ready for another podium finish in Round 12 of the LOORRS Sunday. The Black Rhino #54 started in Row two in third position. Osborn hung out in the third and fourth positions for most of the first half of the race until the #54 suffered a flat tire on lap 7. Osborn isn’t saying much else only to say that his day was over on lap 8 and no explanation for his “bloody noseâ€.
“I don’t really want to talk about Sunday because I got a flat then a bloody nose. Just crap luck. I was super happy to get my first podium; Sparks was a super cool track with the elevation changes. I hope we can go to that track more often" said Osborn. “Thank you again to Superlite, my sponsors and my parents for this opportunityâ€
CODY RAHDERS
First Pro Win in SuperLite
Having set fast lap in both practices then qualifying 2nd for Saturdays main, the leaders were inverted six positions for the start placing Cody inside row three. As the race got underway by the end of lap one Cody had moved into second place and midway through lap two he moved to the front. Cody then was unchallenged until lap seven when at the top of turn one he bicycled the truck; this miscue allowed second place to close the gap and briefly pass Cody before turn two but midway through turn three he was back in the lead until the mid race caution.
The pack was gathered up for the restart and Cody jumped on the green flag where he quickly pulled out to a 4 second lead then maintained that gap to the checkers for his first Pro win in the SuperLite class.
For the main on Sunday the leaders were inverted four positions putting Cody second row inside for the start. The green flag flew and Cody moved from fourth to second by turn two where both he and the leader quickly put one second on the pack but, what was shaping up to be a great battle never happened as halfway through lap three Cody’s truck slowed to a crawl with a broken left axle.
“What a great weekend, we had both Bryan and my trucks pitted together under the SuperLite awning. My Saturday race was challenging at first going from 5th to 2nd to 1st. Almost threw it away on lap seven with a big bicycle and losing a position but once I got the lead back and did the mid race restart I just drove smart and turned laps till the finish. It was awesome to win but once my spotter Troy told me Bryan finished 3rd I was pumped for all of us. Black Rhino SuperLites went 1st and 3rd, what a great race. Sunday was a little different, got out front quick, broke an axle on lap three, and that was it. I can’t thank Kenny and Black Rhino enough for the support." Rahders said.
Cody Rahders Racing and R3Motorsports would like to thank all of our sponsors for their help, we couldn't do it without you;
