Will do Bobby!
I think the guys at Polaris would have a stroke if they found out that a 'Yamaha' engine found its way into the Bobsled. Haha. But then again the extra 110 hp that you have over the 800 does sound appealing!

I have told the story of you coming by me on the pavement at Henderson at least 100 times. You had to be going 110 and I was doing just over 70. It was like watching a car go by on the freeway! Your Ute sounds like a F1 car.

Yeah I agree, they would flip. I already deciced that if I ever did a bike swap in a Polaris I would have to use a suzuki motor. I was told Polaris and Suzuki have some connection.

The car sounds really cool. An F1 is the best comparison I have come up with too. Just for the record I was doing 105mph but but I let off right before I passed. My brother said I was going to kill someone while passing people. I I was not worried about you but several of the bikes and quads turned and looked as I passed and I think i almost scared one guy off the road. The looks on their faces as I pass going 30+mph faster then them is priceless.

Several of the XP cars are really fast too. Are you having Kroyer build your motor? If so I might have to have them buildine too just to keep up.

No connection between Polaris and Suzuki. Arctic Cat used to be partially owned by Suzuki and used a bunch of their motors, but AC just bought back Suzuki's interest. I was only joking about 'having a stroke' regarding the engine swap. In the end the vehicle is a SR1 class and everybody knows that bike engines are run in these rigs.

Yes Kroyer is building our motors. They do really nice work.

Mad Media just reported that there are only 50 spots left for the Mint. They have a 300 vehicle limit. Sooooo....if you were going to race, get your entry in! Don't want the other classes taking OUR entries. This is the MINT! Woot...woot!

How many are entered? And if anyone is interested, we are going to build a new xp and will probably sell this one after the mint. It only has the v2r race and soon the mint on it .

Just sent the $ in. My son & I are running my rx1 in the dsr1 class. Does anybody know if we can park a motor home near the start finish line & can we pit there?
How far is contingency from the start finish line ?
Is contingency thursday or friday?
Sorry for all the questions 1st bitd race. Thanks Rich

Hey Rich, I'm no expert (haven't ever ran a BITD race either), but I do know that the race and start/finish is out by Jean, NV and the tech/contingency is on Fremont street, which is just north of The Strip in downtown Vegas. They are probably 30mins a part in a car on I-15.

I believe tech/contingency is Friday. It maybe Thursday too, but I know Friday for sure. As far as start/finish camping, you will have to get that from someone else although I am pretty sure you can camp at the main pit.

We are getting our together right now, still shooting to make the Mint!

Qualifying Thursday, tech Friday, race sat, awards Sunday. I spoke to Casey about a week ago and he was trying to decide about camping. He said if he can swing it they may allow one RV or trailer per team. With 300 entries I imagine it may get crowded.
Glad to hear we have another DSR1. Keep wrenching Cody. You will make it.

It is easily 30 minutes from Contingency to the exit in Jean. But if there is traffic give yourself much more time. Plus it is very, very slow going from the Jean exit to staging. I would give yourself at least 20 minutes from the Jean exit to the start. You will be driving at least an hour before sunrise and the markings are not that great. Plus 25 mph speed limit on dirt roads to staging. And they do enforce it.

25 mph.....MEANS 25 MPH!!!!!

It is hard as hell to keep it at 25, but they pulled quite a few people over in December.

X2 on the crappy markings from the Jean exit. Plus it was dark. Sucked for a first timer.

One can only hope! I am working on the car 8-12 hours /day 5-6 days a week right now to finish it, there are just a few things out of our control. I think if we can get the suspension and axle issues worked out we will be fine. We still aren't in the clear though. A lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks. Here is a pic of the car as of yesterday morning, talk about a full race prep! :)
