Balljoint question?

I got a balljoint from the local dealer to put in a spindle I got from a friend. The deaer wanted $30 to press it in. I had the spindle in hand it was not on the Rhino. I thought $5 maybe. I thought $30 was a rip off.I did not let them do it. I was going to try to do it my self.
I mest the rubber part up on the balljoint. Well I did not I stopped by tirediscounters and they put it in for free, and mest up the rubble boot. I could not get the rubber boot to stay on like it was sopos to.
My question is I put some rvt silicone on it to help it seal. Will it work for a while? Or do I need to take it out and spend anothe $32 for baljoint and then $30 to have them put it in? Thanks

I thought the silicone would seal it. The boot once on does not move. I guess I was just hoping it would work and I was trying to talk my self into it.

Its on there so I would give it a try, you have nothing to loose.

I think if you use a good seal/adhesive it will stay on.....But buy another and have it handy....
