Wayne, why can't you discuss the details? I would think it should be public knowledge and not privy to only a few? Again how is Robby bending a rule if BITD is allowing it? Maybe Robby found a loophole in a BITD rule. Robby's good at that, and rarely loses when questioned. Remember he's dealt with NASCAR, INDY & Dakar, where rules and rule books are books, not a single page and are scrutinized in detail. Teams have people whose job is to understand and find loopholes.

I know as a racer and owner of a Pro Production UTV you don't want to hear this, but don't hate the player, hate the game. This is a BITD issue and not a Robby issue. He has built a car that by your words fits the class due to bending a rule or loophole in a BITD rule. To me this sounds like the same type of loophole Holz and Scanlon found with his front suspension.

I am definitely not a Robby hater!!! I have always been a fan of his and he has always been nice to me when I see him or talked with him on the phone.
The car does not fit the class because it's not a production car. The loophole is that BITD states that there has to be 1000 units, but it does not specify when the units have to be produced.

And yes if you tried racing a Speed Cat or any other non production car I and others would call you out just the same. The only difference is your name is not Robby Gordon so you would not be allowed to race it.... I love the fact Robby and Arctic Cat are trying to race a UTV, I just want them to play by the same rules as the rest of us.

I was just at az motorsports arcticcat dealer guess what I seen. No turbo model available, that's not it either to no new robby Gordon inspired wild cat, what for it no Yamaha motor in any of there utv's either. What a minute didn't nikal say I could go buy this robby Gordon inspired turbo Yamaha thing from the manufacter/ dealer. I got it wrong you have to go to pj jones to get this robby Gordon thing that the dealer/manufacter doesn't offer. What for it, this robby thing has had a chance since baja 1000 to produce what 1000 units, 7 months and still not 1 vin tag. What do you think they are doing making every one by hand at this rate 1 a year. So I guess in BITD rules as long as I say vin will be available its ok.

That's my point how can you be in pro production class if there is "0" production of a utv. I am with matt on this one huge robby fan and great utv, arcticcat or Textron is not ready or will they ever be ready to release any of these utv's to the public.Until they are ready to release to the public robby utv is a pipe dream.

They did say arcticcat does work with Yamaha so they think that is an option but they could take 4k off any model there. I think it was called no brainer sale. Still the point there is "0" production going on with the robby edition othere then robby. Unless I read something wrong but the title says "Turbo production class". You want me to be a smart ass cant I take a class10 and race turbo production class then in all of your eyes. Polaris uses the ecotec in one of there vehicles according to rules it fits the rules? Do you see were Pandora box is open now because of robby.

To state the rule is 1000 production cars but it doesn't say "when" they have to be built is ridiculous nonsense. We all know what the rule means.......Like they say in Texas "quit pissing all over my leg and trying to convince me its raining"! Almost no one can ever call bullshit on the stuff that goes on in BITD and some really stupid/absurd stuff has been allowed why this is even a subject....no one has yet discovered how far you can go. We are heading there tonight , Running a stocker in pro stock - We can't run the supercharger due to the new pro mod rules. I think we will be competitive at the short tracks, have some ideas on what to do about Crandon/Bark river since we needed about 10mph off on top speed (secondary is tiny) but time will tell , we just got the car back to stock and together Tuesday night so... yeah.. not alot of run time on it...

Will do , Just using this year to develop our program and see what does/doesn't work for next year when we have the new car if we end up top 5 we'll be happy. Classes will be stacked for sure.

So everything you just said is my point I cant go buy XX so its not in production everything dealer said. They told me there were some dates but they were told other dates to and still nothing. Pretty much was told don't hold your breath.

Are you sure that was really an Arctic Cat dealer you spoke too ? Or a dealer that sells ACs on the side. They sound completely clueless. The information that was shared from Arctic Cat at the dealer show was pretty specific about the Na car and then the turbo car . How would they have not heard anything. You would think they would be up on these things.

Our debate is that Robbie is selling the speedcat built out of his shop to the racers through a dealer network and wether this should or shouldnt qualify as a production car. I say absolutely. Anyone can buy one through the dealer network And the cars are built with a vin using the same parts. Motor , trans and all. Other say becease they have not produced 1,000 of the speedcats it cant be considered a production car.

~$75,000 * 1,000 units = $75mm. That would be incredible. One thing RG does have that others don't is the international aspect. Potential buyers in Dubai, China, Australia, S. America. I bet RG starts selling them at SST event as well.

So I spoke with one of the three Speed Cat dealers yesterday afternoon. They told me that at this time they have no info other than the link to the Speed Cat website. I asked how much they are selling for and they said they are not to sure at this point and it should be between 60k to 100k. They said in order to become a dealer they had to order three cars and then another two cars later on in the year.

Lighten up Francis, I wasn't being a smart ass, I was just telling you they are coming despite what your dealer is saying. Also I never said they belonged in the production class, however since they were deemed legal, I would race one given the opportunity.

I thought about this too and I agree. UTV racing is blowing up in Australia ( ask the Wellers ) and RG is a big deal over there. And he's a master marketer at all things RG. I kind of chuckle when guys say he will never will sell 1000 units. He will have no issues selling his cars over there if he chooses to. Those guys seem to follow what ever is winning over here in other classes so a good showing for the speedcat at the 500 or the 1000 later on will sell alot of cars.
