28"-30" tire for a 9" wide x 15" Rim

I'm looking for a durable desert racing tire to fit on a 15" rim that's 9" wide. I see some racers are using a small truck tire (BFG 30"). Anyone have any suggestions? Looking for something durable but lighter.

I know that General makes a 27x8.5R14 so im sure they have a 15" rim size as well....
