2017 BITD MINT 400 DRAW ORDER

Who created this top 10 starting rule anyways? I agree it's got to be one of the dumbest rules made on deciding a starting order. And like Wayne said no other BITD class does this, or for that fact any other desert series.

I know I the past, race series have given preferential treatment to full series racers to enter a popular race like the Mint, where entries are limited and it's going to max out. They will say in order to assure your entry is accepted you must race the previous race in the series, all others are first come first serve. But to use your finishing results to determine your starting position for the next race is just dumb.

Is this something that derived from the UTV Championships? I thought they did something like this the first years they created it? Your Parker results where how you drew for the start?

You should look at the results of parker425 they match starting order of the mint 400. what do you think casey would say if baja specialist called in. I would say ass chewing for not racing his series and not being at the last drivers meeting lol.

I am not the only one that has the opinion that the starting order sucks. I raced every BITD for eight years back in my ATV days and I have had my ass chewed out on more than one occasion by Casey. One of the many good things about Casey was that he would always pick up the phone and listen to you. And no I did not always like his answers, but he always told you exactly how he felt.

The only race that qualifying would be good for would be the UTVWC because the lead UTV has clean air and a huge advantage. And then the Mint, just because it has so many entrees. Other than that I would say do it the way it is now.

Justin who won 6100 class 6128 mr swift, who starts first at mint 400 maybe you should look it up. rob mac and andy qualify. Who won class 10 1074 mr heger let me help you he is starting first off line do you see the pattern about finishing the last race were you start the mint 400.

Not to pee in your fruit loops but are those the only BITD races you are entering this year. On the other hand UTV world championship would be a great time to do qualifying, but the issue is dust, do you do it in a different location, now you have to move some were else to qualify and add another day. Then you drive cost up and Joeyd already said this event isn't a money maker so were do swallow that cost.

Unfortunately we do not have the budget to race all the races in the SCORE and BITD series with a two car program. So we have to just pick out the biggest ones in the BITD series, the Mint, UTVWC, and V2R as well.
So you are in agreement that qualifying would be good at the UTVWC? It is just a logistical problem that you see with it. I would think qualifying could be held in the same location with a modified course and could be watered to keep the dust down.
But I am looking at it from the outside in and have no idea what Joey would have to do in order to make it happen.

Yes I do agree on qualifying for UTVWC but I also know its a nightmare because of dust and race speeds. Plus you would have to eliminate pre fun run then. Not going to lie qualifying for 100 utv at lets say 3 min each that 5 hours of standing with your thumb up your butt, not including if something goes wrong. I would along 8hrs of wasted time. Ask johnny how long it takes to do qualifying about 60 trucks not a fun day.

Last year the first row was only for the guys in the top 10 from the previous race, we all don't take off at once.

dont know if you guys remember it last year, burnett was i think in the 3rd row at UTVWC and in the land rush start somebody pinched him in the corner and clipped his back tire. his back tire drove over the top of their front tire and he nearly lost his whole race before he got thru the first turn, ended up bicycling the car on two wheels over the berm and off the course. dont know how he saved it, much less to end up on the podium. but, he could have ended the race right there as have many who have flipped in that first turn when someone gets a little over anxious. its hard to fit 15 cars in a turn thats only 3 cars wide when everyone is gunning for it, and nobody wants to let up. somebody sticks their front tire into your back tire and you are done. if you dont break an axle or lose control you are doing good.

There haven't really been any hot incidents during the land rush start at worlds. Lucky I don't have it my way or all of you would be starting togeather. AT ONCE! #soboba

Hahaha...... that would be awesome!!! At my first National Hare and Hound race there was over 400 riders taking off of the line at once. When I did the Weston Beach race in England there was over 1000 quads in one giant mass start. I got the whole shot in that one but it was pure chaos behind me and I was scared to death to crash.
