2012 BITD Parker 250 ROLL CALL!

wow crappy draw lots of spots to make up and i know 1911 is entering so that would be 13 or so

Does anyone know why this is the Parker 250 and once again we are only doing 160 miles? There are no other classes to contend with why not give us the miles? It appears we are paying the same entry fee as the motorcycles but getting 80 miles less.

I agree, Its time to bump us up to 3 laps.

What did Casey say when you called him?

2/3 the race should be 2/3 the entry fee. I will call Casey also. Why don't we all call and if he gets 10 calls on monday it will have more impact then if 1 or 2 of us call.

Who is in?

702-457-5775 BITD office

I called Casey on Friday, but he is unwilling to extend the laps due to the timetable he has established for the weekend. He needs to get us all complete with race and awards in order to have time to accomodate the 700+ people he is expecting for the 425 fun run. He did say he would consider future races extending the laps due to the fact we are getting faster, but as far as reducing entry fees that would be a big negative!

I will be meeting with Casey and Cory next week so again if there are any concerns or ideas I can bring forth I would appreciate it. Let's try and keep it positive I think we are on the brink of really exploding the class, we are the only class that is still growing and believe it or not we have Casey's attention he does not want to lose us.

Its crap that we get the short end of the stick..... I do believe that the more I race with this organization the more my family and support team are over it. With the entry fees, the lack of support for us little guys and the whole not following the rules......its very disappointing. It is alot of time and is financially taxing on a team /family that does not have a large amount of funds given to them for racing to have such a lack of support from the organization and the big boys/girls racing with us.

Im sure im not the only one out there who feels this way. Hopefully, they will figure it out so our class with continue to grow and finally gain the respect it deserves.

I dont currently run any BITD races but i would love to but i can see how it is very expensive for the guys that do and i havent seen much great things about BITD except the glory. I think more of us regular average joes would do them if they could focus on sticking to the rules and working on what racers want. You guys the racers are what make the event. Good luck guys as for now ill stick to helping out my buddies that race. See ya friday fellas

I disagree! Casey puts on fantastic races that are well organized, stay on schedule and are safe. He has allowed us to race in BITD with the big boys and now we as a group, are proving our speed. With speed and consistant finishes comes respect. With respect comes more laps...etc. He is simply not going to change an entire race schedule a week before the race because one guy calls him to say he wants one more lap. The way it works is to make constructive suggestions, and chances are Casey will implement the changes in the FUTURE, if and when they make sense.

Negative posts are only going to hurt UTV desert racing and reduce car count. Constructive comments about how to improve and grow UTV racing are always welcome.

Where we really have a chance to show our speed is at the Mint, where I believe we are going to be racing with a lot of the limited classes. I, for one can't wait to show Casey what our little Ute's can do against 'real race cars' (not my words). I think Casey and many others will be very surprised! :)

I can't wait for Parker and this thread is called 'Parker 250 Roll Call'...so who else is going to come out and race with us?

I have been doing some research and talking to the ISA guys...there is a less expensive series in Nor Cal/ Nor Nev. They have a 300 miler, 500 miler and 250 miler (this is a night race). As well as 4 short course races. Apparently they WANT UTV's really bad. And their schedule does not interfere with BITD's.

Of course, there have always been and will always be smaller "regional series". It really depends on what you want to do. There are many that prefer to play in the "arena league", some teams/racers/sponsors prefer to play in the NFL. There's absolutely nothing wrong with smaller regional series, I'm just making a point that you're comparing apples and oranges.
Smaller series are also much more likely to want ANYONE from ANY class as they're typically much smaller, growing series who are trying to make a name for themselves.
As Matt stated above, we will have to EARN our way when playing with the big boys, and we've consistently made strides towards earning respect over the past few years. More competitive times and lower attrition will be the key to earning this respect in the future.

stupid question how many miles did you race last year. Next question How many miles do we race this. Is it more or less than last year. Is there a bigger race than last year hot and sweaty race. Is there a bigger purse and more mile in this race. Because when i checked we have 3 huge races this year with about 1000-1200 miles in them.

Looks like Cognito is IN!!!! After a Grim weekend Justin got the bugs worked out of the Car and did some tuning the last few day...I Got a change to drive today while tuning and I think were ready!!! The machine felt great and we HOPE for good luck come saturday....hopefully TEAM COGNITO can bring home a finish:D

Good luck Cognito!!! Look forward to seeing all our boys out there!!

FYI - UTVUnderground and Mad Media will be putting a little video together to kick off the season in Parker! We will be wanting to place Go Pro's on a handful of cars. If some of you are running your own Go Pro's and would like to contribute your footage, I will need to collect that following the race. We will also be shooting on the course where we can.

Looking forward to a fun weeeknd!!!!!
