UTVUG RZR4 & Walker Evans Racing XP900

We had the chance to head out this weekend to meet up with Jacob, Daniel, and Stormin Norman at the Soboba Indian Reservation to check out the course and discuss next weekends upcoming 2011 Soboba GP. We finalized ideas for the UTVUnderground Long Jump Contest as well and let me tell you, this is going to be AWESOME!

The course is 6 miles of awesome, with a slammin infield shortcourse/MX track that leads into some amazing trail riding sections full of water crossings, switchback single track trails, mountain ridges, and high speed flats and hills. The course has plenty of passing areas and has the potential to be the best UTV GP course I have ever laid eyes on.

We turned off about 5-6 laps, stopping to talk about each lap as we completed it, and taking pics and some video along the way. We had the 2 UTVUG RZR4's, the Walker Evans Racing RZR XP900, and Rusty brought out his freshly painted Fotorod Rhino! We diced it up giving the course a solid shake down. To finish the afternoon off Magnum Dan in the Blue 2010 RZR4 and I in the 2011 Red/Black RZR4 battled head to head in a timed lap of competition to see not only who was the best driver of the 2, lol, but more to see just how long it would take to do a fast lap. We took off the line and battled SXS all the way through the MX style infield and then Dan proceeded to suck my roost for the next 5.5miles! lol We got hung up behind a youngster on a dirt bike for about 2 minutes, but even with that hang up we still turned off a 15minute lap.

Dan and I hung it out, and had a blast. We all agreed that we wish we could run this track ever day! hahahah Soboba is a beautiful reservation.

The race itself is in a different spot than the 2009 event. To get to the track what you are going to do is once you cross the guard gate to get intot he reservation (right where the casino is) you are going to head strait until you reach a street called THE OAKS. There you will make a left and take it all the way back until you reach some super clean and new baseball fields. From there you will see all the parking on the right. There is a large blacktop parking lot where all the RV's will be set up for pits. Room is plenty but could fill up so I suggest getting in on either Friday afternoon or early Saturday.

UTVUnderground will be arriving on Friday and will try to get a corner of the lot for all of us UTV goons to get togeather.

Saturday will be the UTVUnderground Long Jump Contest and Pit Challenge. The Long Jump is set up amazing, it has a long downhill landing, think CORR Chula Vista Track, and will be an amazing show assuming we get a good group to try and go after the $1000.00 Grand Prize!!! UTVUnderground will be helping with the set up and orginizing of this contest so PLEASE PARTICIPATE!!! It should be a BLAST.

The Pit Challenge will be a 4 man pit challenege. You wil have to simulate a 5 Gallon Fuel Dump, Driver Change, and Change 2 Tires! Fastest team to complete the challenge will win $500.00!! We may alter the challenege a bit but for now this is the game plan.

Overall the facility, the orginising partners, and the course is nothing but quality! I anticipate this being one of the funnest and best UTV events of 2011! It is very spectator friendly so come on out and hang, watch, and participate. Remember EVERYONE can run this race, if you got what it takes to compete then make sure to come run what ya brung and have nothing but FUN!

Oh and yeah if you are wondering, the RZR XP is all its cracked up to be! hahaha Its sick!

Thanks for making the video in super speed so my car did not look so slow. There is some big hill climbs. My second lap was faster because i shifted at the base of the hills. My motor is stock except for a CDI and I am running BFG's. I could have used a sway bar also. It was a little scary on top of the ridges trying to slide a turn with no sway bar.

Good luck to everyone and be safe.
