Announcement. For Immediate Release: January 7, 2011
2011 Regency Hill Climb
Richard Saxton, driving a Team Associated SC10 Brushless RTR, bested a field of competitors at the 2011 Regency Hill Climb. The first annual event featured a field that included former ROAR on- and off-road National Champions doing battle for the prestigious title and first-
place prize.
Recent heavy rains made the course very challenging. An exposed root near the top of the course prevented anyone other than Saxton from completing the climb legally. On his 6th attempt, RS found the line and crested the top of the hill out of view of the spectators. Second place finisher Sean Cochran was able to complete a run but was later penalized for a start line infraction. Had he not been penalized at the start line he risked another penalty for lack of style and a slow climbing time.
Rick Hohwart rounded out the podium with his Reedy-powered SC10. Nearly making it to the top, Rick was grabbed by a plant at the edge of the course and returned to the bottom of the hill in spectacular fashion.
Continuing the tradition of prizes being awarded rather than trophies, Saxton enjoyed a Chick-fil-A lunch paid for by his fellow competitors. The losers had to pay for their own meals.
Final Results:
1. Richard Saxton
2. Sean Cochran
3. Rick Hohwart
Equipment used:
#732 Reedy Wolfpack 3400mAH 35C 7.4V LiPo
#303 Reedy AA 2700mAh NiMH
#7040 SC10 Brushless RTR Lucas Oil
