BORR is putting on the "2010 Wendover 300" on MAY 1st.
The 2009 race was awesome and everyone involved had a great time aswell as loved the course. Right now the race is scheduled but BORR is taking any and all ideas on the race into consideration so please jump over to BOR Racing and chime in. Trucks and buggys will be starting and finishing in wendover with (3) 100 mile loops while the atvs/bikes/utvs course length will be determined by us. So far it looks as if everyone is leaning towards 100+ miles but we need more info. The race course is always awesome in wendover and the entry fees are very minimal so come on out and join us!

BORR is a great organization and works off the "run what ya brung system". This year they will be using the worcs rulebook for utv classes.

I will be their.
The owner of BOR is working with the city of Wendover for the start/finish to be in the city Possibly right from one of the casinos. For those who have never been to Wendover we are only talking a mile mabe two from main downtown before you are in some awesome Nevada desert. Hotel rooms are cheap but their is plenty of space to camp at the pits. Thats what we did last year lots of fun camping.

They are now using the WORCS rule book for a general outline so tech is within reason for anyone on a budget. These are the basic rules.
1: All UTV's must have 4 point harness for each occupant.

2: Must have ABC type fire extinguisher on board.

3: Side doors or nets are required keep occupant legs within the foot well area.

4: Full factory roll cage must be intact.

5: To be considered a UTV the vehicle must have come with an OEM rear cargo bed.

6: All occupants must wear full protective clothing to include at least a helmet, goggles, gloves. All other clothing must provide full coverage.

Last year we mostly had stockish rhinos and a RZRs I had brought out my stockish Teryx but DNF due to a rollover prerunnig. The course was very very well marked but we blew through a double caution at full throttle because we where dumb and didnt ask what the markings ment. LOL we thought the two orange pie plates ment "yep your still going the right way". If this is going to be your first race ask the guy doing your tech inspection how the course is marked before you go prerun. Or just go slow.

I know freeridemxatv is building a full on race rhino and his dad and maybe others have full on racers also so bring what ya got and you will be placed in a class with others like you.

I think pushing these forums for racing in my area (intermountain west) is somewhat a wast of time but if anyone in or around SLC, Utah needs or wants help getting ready to race or even want to race but need help at the race lets pit toghether. I have a tube bender welder and any other tools we may need to get you ready to race. I would like to see more people this year so I will do my best to help anyone who askes.

Things are looking really good for the UTV race. We have 16 UTV's listed with intent to race and a handfull of others that will be their but haven't listed intent to race yet. I think we will see over 20 with everything from bone stock to full race. This seems like a large # to me but what are other desert races getting for UTV numbers? I know our goal from last year was 30-40 utv's per race by the end of the season this year. At this rate we may pass that goal.

Alright, I think I am going to do this race. But I need help with making doors for my Teryx that would be removable. Freeride and my Dad can do it, but we may need a little bending help?

Also, can we race with a co-pilot? is one required? I would love to find a "non UTV guy" and make them ride with me for 150 miles.

May have to stop for him to change his diapers a few times :)

I'll be there. Just had a tune-up! Headed to Knolls tomorrow to get some driving in as long as the weather holds up. This is going to be a fun desert race!!!

I can help you get them done. So do you guys not have a bender? Mine has 1" 1.5" and 1.75" dies

Final course is ready 136 miles and only a $75 entry fee if you sign up a week before the race. And this isnt beat up wooped out area this is vergin Nevada desert.
