YOSHIMURA & HOOKIT SOLID BEHIND THE “PURE†SERIES
California City, CA – April 10, 2013 – YOSHIMURA, one of the most respected and leading companies in motorsports joins the group of Contingency Sponsors and Sponsors of the 2013 PURE SIDE-X-SIDE OFF-ROAD DESERT SERIES, Presented by SXSPerformance.com with a strong “Contingency†program and a look to the future of the Series with racer support through their HOOKIT program, announced AVE (Alta Vista Events) today.
Tim Welch, Yoshimura’s Research and Development Manager, along with Sales Manager John Haskell, put together a great package to augment the PURE Series and be part of the series’ conception and growth. According to Welch, “We think AVE has a great concept for the Side-X-Sides/UTVs and we want to be part of it to help promote this unique series. Haskell added, “We are going to provide the tools and mechanisms to get racers involved, and then become part of the “Hookit†nation to augment their racing program.â€

Yoshimura is posting the following for each of the five events in the series: First Place is $100 off on product. They are also adding a discount of $75 for a Podium finish, $50 credit for finishing in the Top 10 and $25 off product for just finishing the event.
According to promoter of the series Lou Peralta, “We are so pumped to have YOSHIMURA/HOOKIT join our series, that it encourages us to continue to ‘pull all the stops’ in order to make our series the premier series in the country. We realize that it’s always tough to be first-timers, and we recognize that many racers and companies like to take a “look-and-see†approach to what we’re doing. So out of the box, support is not going to be as strong. But we’re going to put on a series just as if we had 300 entries—by the way, that’s the number I’m shooting for in the near future.â€
Peralta added, “Consequently, we are especially grateful that YOSHIMURA/HOOKIT has seen fit to join in our effort. Now, all we have to do is deliver the goods and with their support and the backing of all our other sponsors and contingency sponsors, we can’t fail.â€

The “PURE†Series features a five-event schedule, starting with the “200†miler -- (four-laps, 50-mile each) romp in the deserts of California City, scheduled for April 19-21, 2013. Entries are still open and you can sign up right up to race day. The event will start at 4 p.m. sharp, Saturday, April 4 and will feature at least one to two laps in daylight and the rest at night. Free camping at the S/F located at the Alta Vista Ranch, 138th & Proctor, California City, CA is available to participants and crews.
Four more events follow with the “300,†“350,†“250,†and the “400â€-miler to cap the first year of the series.
This is the country’s first “Unique†ALL Side-X-Side Series, which also features the “Bone Stock†Classes (800cc and under and 801cc to 1000cc), unique to the PURE Series. Peralta concluded, “What better way to introduce potential racers and enthusiasts to our desert sport by giving them a chance to race with us by just picking up a unit at one of their local dealers and come and out and experience the thrills that is off-road racing in the California City desert.â€
Event awards and a “special award†sponsored by Lawrence Equipment of South El Monte, which is also presented to those who complete every single mile of each event will. They will qualify for the “1.5K-KUP†the top award given at the end of the Series.
