Please call BITD tech and show them these pictures in regards with where the fuel cell fill neck, vents & lines are located. I would hate for you to go any farther and have them not let you pass tech due to your fuel cell fill, vent & pick up location.

Should be fine, half the cars in BITD run that cell.

Really? They are cool with the fuel lines, vents & fill neck between the seats? And with no firewall or shielding covering them? Wow if this is so, then I guess he is good to go, but I would have to question tech as to how that is OK. I know most of the Jimco's use a saddle cell that sits part way under the seats. But it also goes up behind the seats as this is where all the filler neck, vents & lines are.

I have to admit Casey claims and preaches safety all the time, yet I know he is more about the mighty dollar. So I guess you don't turn away an entry fee.

I'm not trying to create a debate about how closely BITD tech enforces the rule book but I will say there are at least 5 other teams running this same setup. Obviously they feel it's a safe setup, why would you argue with that unless your trying to make waves with tech and the other teams that are running this setup? You've been pretty critical on my build so far, do you understand that it is a work in progress and I'm documenting this build step by step? There will be shielding on the fuel lines and there also will be a rear bumper, just haven't got to that yet.

I don't think he is trying to criticize your build what so ever. He is simply just trying to give you constructive criticism....

I'm very sorry if you feel I'm critizing your build. I'm not! What I am doing is pointing out things or issues that might cause you trouble down the road. Just so you know I have been in the sport for my whole 42 years of life. I'm a 3rd generation racer. I've raced in 5/1600, class 10 & class 1. My family raced class 1600 & class 7. I've worked with some of the best teams in the sport including TT teams. I have pitted for some of the top teams, and even consulted on some new teams looking for advise or help.

I admit I look at things different then most. I look at things analytically and analyze every detail. If you looked at our 5/1600 you would be amazed of the detail that went into it. Most don't do what we did. But my track record shows that I've been successful. I've also been able to save some people from making mistakes, which ultimately saves them money.

So please accept my apology and I will try to reframe from making comments unless asked.

BTW years ago in San Felipe we pitted next to a team who's car burnt up right I front of us as they had routed a fuel cell vent line wrong. The fuel splashed on the rear trailing arm and ran down to the brake rotor. The car went up in flames and the driver got out with minor burns. The car was a total loss. All because a simple vent line was routed wrong.

Thad is a fabin maniac! More progress on front bumper.............

Man, Chad's just moving right along isn't he? Have you guys decided if you're building your own suspension, or just installing one of the available LT kits? Very sanitary craftsmanship, by the way. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.
