Wasteland performance does great quality work.. These guys definitely know what they are doing when it comes to conversions and have tons of experience in these Z1 Conversions, as well as anything else involving the UTV's etc....

They went above and beyond to take care of Sand Sports Unlimited... We will be posting pics of our finished Z1 RZR soon....

If something is new versus the stock Polaris belt, then give us some specs please. Heretofore, your contact at MBL, Matt Rottman says the 'extreme duty' belt is the same as the stock Polaris belt. If your belt is 'better' I would love to know how. Most people don't have an issue with belt 'strength' they have an issue with belt heat or belt slipping.
 
First off, either you misunderstood Matt or he gave some incorrect information. The 48HP belt is the same as the 180108532 belt which was specifically built for the high performance machines. This belt originally came from our 1301065 belt which was made specifically for the weber conversions which we did. The 48HPbelt is dimensionally the same as the 48 belt from Polaris, but it is designed for higher loads which come with more hp..<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
No doubt belts biggest enemy is heat, and in tests, you can watch a belts life decrease exponentially as the belt box temperature increases. You can also watch its efficiency go to crap.<o:p></o:p>
However, there is a great amount of technologies that have been developed over the years in the rubber belt cvt, and as the hp of these machines increases, so does the challenge in making a belt last. <o:p></o:p>
The 48HP is designed to handle 180hp, and achieve OEM durability.<o:p></o:p>

Belt design is a fairly complicated process. There are belts out there, which are great for Drag racing, but don't do well for longevity. There are belts which are great for longevity, but require very precise clutching for each day. There are also belts out there which may have a good design, but don't fit well.

In the end, there are many ways to come up with a good belt, we believe we have a great belt. We have worked hard to partner with the premier manufacture. We monitor the quality of the belts we get from them (dimensions, etc), and we test them on our engine swap machines.

We have done comparison tests with other manufactures, and none have lived up to what MBL has built for us. We are very happy with there product, and what they have built for us.

MBL are the experts on the belts and the designs which we use. We forward them our specific requirements and dimensions for the belts, they build us samples. We then put the belts on our machines, and some select customers we have around the world. Once they have the required miles on the belt, we get the belts back, and do checks on them.

You ask what is different from our belt to the Polaris belt. First and foremost, it is designed for more HP and has been tested to show it lasts. It is a different design than the 48 belt, and if you took a look at them, you would see some of the differences.

I'm not sure what has sparked this inquiry, but we stand behind our belt, we stand behind our 48HP design just as we do any of our belts.

Any belt which has a HP behind it will be a higher performance belt than a stock belt. If our part number is for example "wasteland48" it is then the OEM equivalent belt.

Based on this it seems we should follow the advice from MBL as experts in this area!

MBL is very protective of there designs, and how they produce these belts. Sorry, but I aint gonna be the guy to spill the beans.

MBL works with us, and we are happy to use there product to support the aftermarket.

Just as Coke isnt giving out there receipe, MBL isnt giving out there designs.
