I have a white XP, and will look you guys up if i get back in time. May be riding at Wind Rock in TN for the weekend. Just have to see if i have to work Friday or not.

Does anyone know where the rules/tech list is for this race? I see the rules for the 4x4/SUV's on the website, but I don't see anything specific to UTV's.

thanks,

Have you checked on the Badlands website? I'm planning on coming down Sat. early afternoon, I'll be in the black XP

Yes, they have the rules posted for their A, B, and C class, but reading the rules makes it sound like all of those classes are for full size vehicles. I don't see anything specific to UTV's.

basic rules for sxs class are window nets,or arm restraints, fire extinguisher, orange light on back somewhere that turns on with key on, and they want you to wear a safety vest in case you break down and have to exit.glad to see some more people coming to race now I can see where my rzrs stands against an xp

Ouch, nets. I was afraid of that. That may be a deal breaker for me. I'll see if I can get the nets from my RZR-S to fit the XP.

Thanks for letting us know. Are the official rules for UTV's posted anywhere?

there are no offical rules for utvs they just add as we go.I have arm restraints you can use I just got window nets myself they are kinda a pain but I just put a little slack in mine right before race started.I will have them there if you need them its no problem.and you will need a copilot if you did not know that.

Ha, arm restraints??? That doesn't sound very safe in the event of a fire. I will work on getting my nets installed.

I hadn't planned on a co-pilot. I'll have to see if I can round someone up.

if you cant find a copilot I have friends that will be there that use to race in the jeep b class I am sure he or a few others would be willing.and yes arm restraints not the best idea they had or even me thats why I went with nets.the tech guy is not to critical on the sxs class.

Ok. Thanks again for the info. I'll post back here when I know for sure if we're going to make it.

Stop by Memphis and save me from this baby shower my girlfriend is putting on at my house. Just pull up, knock on the door, tell her you need my help in the worst way and maybe i could get out of this fiasco!! He He

Have fun if you go!!

I will be going straight through Memphis. You should definitely grab ahold of the trailer as I drive by.

I don't think I'm going to make it. I can't find anyone to make the trip with me. That's a long way (from Birmingham, AL) to go by myself.

I did end up making the race. That was my first time at Badlands and all I can say is "wow". That place is awesome.

There were probably around 15 UTV's.

The course is the closest thing I've seen anywhere near the East Coast that resembles West Coast terrain. They have a cool mix of rough sand, dunes, and hard pack dirt. I had an absolute blast pre-running. Unfortunately, we broke a clutch belt shortly after the race start, soon after moving into 2nd place.

We'll definitely be there for the next race and hopefully will have better luck.

The staff at Badlands were all great. The put on a great event. I can't wait to get back.

glad to see you make it.when I pulled up and seen 3 xps I told my copilot that we were just gonna try and finish this race cause I was haveing all kinds of problems.then when you pulled up next to me and I heard the sound that came from yours the racer in me came out and I told him to tighten up harnesses because I was gonna go flat out and not let off gas and that I would do what ever it took just to make you guys work for the lead.the look on his face was priceless.we did well had to slow up about 4th lap got hit by a jeep and lost 4wd and bent tie rods held it together to finish.hopefully will have it fixed by next race and have another chance to run with you guys.
