Ultimate lightweight 30" desert tire?

Thanks. I was kind of wondering how long they would last not running race pace. Is the tread on the softer side because it is a race tire?

What did the rear tires look like after 1200 plus miles of Baja? Toast?
i can only give you feed back on the life in race situation. After 1275 miles in baja racing, the tires still had plenty of tread, but they were chewed up as obviously we are charging thru everything fast as possible. I dont see any reason they would not last a recreating person 1500 miles. The tread is middle of the road firm/soft, kind of a good medium.

Ultracross are plentiful with just one race on them....:) I have a set of Blsckwaters I won't use brand new. I found them too squirrly on hard pack compared to Ultracross.

Well I got a great deal on methods and kahuna's at the show. Haven't weighed them but should be about 47#s total which should help in keeping the power loss at a minimum.

Looks good! If it really weighs 47 lbs I think I may follow your lead when it is time for tires. Can you try and throw it on a scale?

Most desert racers run about 20 psi which is necessary to keep the rim from hitting on the big high speed hits when the tires compress.

20 PSI produces a pretty rough ride on the small chattery stuff though. If you aren't racing there is really no need to run that much pressure. I run about 12 PSI in mine. I run a mix of pavement, Jeep trails, and sand washes.

I like those! Never heard of them though....let us know how they are when u get some miles on em

I thought about those tires too. Dave from fss said they were running them and liked them.
Mind if I ask what you paid for them I heard they had smokin deals on them.

Dave was unloading a bunch while we were there in his booth. The guys at Raceline initially recommended them to me. I guess the tires did pretty good at KOH this past year. I like the sidewall features they have.

It seems like they just showed up out of no where too. Be curious to hear how they do, they look like km2's.

I'll be curious to see how the Arisuns hold up. They have a pretty low load rating compared to most of the other tires I have been looking at.

Not bad but still a bit on the heavier side. First specs I saw said they were supposed to be 34#s. What you gonna put them on a 1k?

Yes. 2 seat 1k. They are less than the LT tires I was looking at. Should work out great for me as long as they are as good as what I hear.
