Thinking about going desert racing

I'm thinking about getting into desert racing. I'd like to find a XP that's already been built. Anyone looking to upgrade later in the year?

I may start a build but would need input from racers on what direction to go. I want to stick with Polaris. That's the only part I'm sure of....

clay i would check into the worcs series, even though its a bit of a drive for you the classes are awesome and right now it is the biggest west coast utv racing.

I know I'll have to travel. I really want to do the desert thing. It appeals to me more than the short course racing. I'm going to check into all of the series and think about it for a bit. I've talked to a couple guys who have givin me some insight. I just need to weigh my options.

I'm starting to think about this again. If I was to start with a new build is there any reason not to go with the 1000?

Build price probably. You can find some good 900s for decent prices that are already proven and bugs are worked out.

I don't really want to buy someone else's old car. Would rather build new I think.

Well if you can afford it then thats not a problem. You probably won't be able to get a car built before Parker 250 though.

Yeah. I wouldn't need it done for the 250. I'll make a couple calls to builders next week and see their timeline.

I have allot of training for the USMC this year but if I get a chance I'd love to come out and see if I can help out, just to be around the desert races!
