So whats the correct term for these vehicles?? Or are both the same? Like Blu ray Vs HD Dvd players Just wondering where this industry is leading.

Also is the Legal Limit to a production SXS/UTV 1000cc??

A quick lap around the web shows Polaris, Can Am, Yamaha, and Kawasaki call them Side By Sides. Deere being the lone stand out with Utility Vehicle so SXS it is.

Pretty sure displacement is regulated by what the market and liability lawyers will bear.

UTV - utility vehicle aka work 50% play 50% : Rhino, Teryx, Prowler, Commander, Ranger
SXS - all play and little work: RZR, Wildcat, Maverick

What used to be called UTV's is now trending to be the SXS category but with sub categories to describe the types of SXS.
UTV = Mostly Utility, think Mule or JD Gator
RUV = Mostly Recreation, think Rhino, Teryx, RZR
SUV = Mostly Sport, Wilcat, XP900

These are all how ROHVA views them.

Google says its a UTV, BITD says UTV, Underground says UTV, SCORE says UTV, Lucas Oil says UTV. Goggle says Side by Side is all kinds of things.

SXS is a refrigerator. Trust me I know, I have auto google searches emailed to me and only thing SXS turns up on a daily basis is refrigerators and the occasional shotgun.

UTV turns up mainly UTVs but the occasional India UTV television network hits too
