The affects of Wheel offset and suspension performance

According to Shock Therapy, the XP 900 spindle design works well with 4+3 wheels. I'm sure 5+2 wheel are fine. You just have a lot less scrub ratio.

And to clarify, Raceline is claiming that their 4+3 wheels are about the same as the Method 5+2 wheels.

At the off road expo this weekend I talked to the Raceline guys and they said that Method doesn't measure back spacing correctly and that the Raceline 4+3 wheels aren't that much wider than stock and pretty close to the Method 5+2. Anybody know if there is any truth in that?

I have no idea how Raceline measures their back spacing but it sounds like the guy was doing his best to give you a sales pitch.

I have reverse engineered both 5+2 and 4+3 Methods (14") in Solidworks and results are virtually the same as Shock Therapy's models on scrub radius. Furthermore the mounting face measures either a true 5" or 4" from the inner edge of the wheel. Total width on a beadlock wheel is somewhat subjective as the thickness of the bead from one tire to the next can very the location of the bead lock ring. Although I don't imagine the variation would be much even between brands.

If you care to donate a set (4) of 4+3 Raceline wheels I would be happy to reverse engineer them. I will publish my findings in one sentence paper detailing the differences that could easily be measured with a tape measure and straight edge.

Thanks for the insight. That's what I was expecting to hear. As far as donating wheels, I'll get them coming tomorrow. Lol

So what wheels are available for the rzr 1000 in 14 and 15"wheels that have a 5+2 offset?

I know that Method makes 5/1 and 5/2 in a 14 but not a 15. Walker makes a 5/1 and 5/2 in a 15. They might make it in a 14 as well. There are other wheels out there too but these are the only two we have experience with.

Method has the 401 setup in about every combo possible and they have a 5+2 403 but only in 14"

Walker Evans makes a 14" 5+2 and 15" 5+1.

STI has the HD5 with 5+2 in both 14" and 15" configurations.

Hiper makes a 14x7 in a 5+2 but no 15" options from them.

Seems like most of the wheel manufacturers don't care about having the correct offsets available. Like MSA....their new R-Forged wheels are really cool looking but they only come on a 3.5+3.5. They really missed the mark.

Alright thanks guys I will look into it more. Seems like most wheel manufactures do not make a 5+2 offset in a 15 or 14" wheel for the rzrs. I do not like walker evans wheels.
