Guys i'd like a little feedback on what you or the big boys think the ideal steering ratio's would be for racing. Not on a track but more XC, GNCC type racing in the woods etc.
i have a stock 900 rack with a 2:1 ratio and i have a GearOne 800 rack with 2.4:1 ratio. i obviously want to use GearOne rack since we have so much trouble and wear out of the stock ones here.
I see a lot of builds that have a 1.5:1 quicksteer on them. Dont know what racks they are using though.
Stock 900 rack alone = 2:1
With a (900 rack 2:1) and 1.5:1 quicksteer = 1.5:1
With a (800 rack 2.4:1) and 1.5:1 quicksteer = 1.9:1
With a (800 rack 2.4:1) and 2:1 quicksteer = 1.4:1
so basically if i use the 800 rack with the 1.5:1 quicksteer i get about the same as a stock 900 rack. then if i use the 2:1 quicksteer on the 800, i get about the same as the 900 rack with a 1.5:1
what do ya'll think? what do you/others use?
