The First Lady of SXS - UTVUnderground Approved
Just wanted to see how everyone liked the Vegas race this past weekend - the final shootout for the Lucas Oil Regionals??

First off, I love that track. It's always been one of my favorite tracks, and it was good to get back out there and let the SR1's wind out a bit!

Second, THANK YOU to everyone who has come out and raced in the SR1 class all season!! We have had an amazing turnout all season....unlike alot of classes, our class has grown as the season progresses, and turnouts have been amazing (Vegas was a little low due to several not making the trip, and one breaking in practice....but still good!)

Third - Congrats to Jason (my hunny) for his win in Vegas, his championship in the AZ Regionals AND his Championship in our first SR1 Championship Series!! It was a close battle to the very end between Jason and Jimmy Fishback, and I heard their race was a favorite out of the whole night of racing! :)

I had fun, despite a flat right rear on lap three.....ran the race anyway - hey, that's what beadlocks are for, right?? :)

Big thanks to Black Rhino for their support of the SR1 racers all year - me included!! Every bit helps, when we are all paying for our own programs...that $50 per racer each race goes farther than you might think! :)

We are working on some really cool stuff for the SR1 Championship Series in 2013 - we will keep the purse (would like to make it bigger!), and are working on some cool product stuff and trophies for at LEAST the Championship prizes at the end of the season! We have a lot of ideas, and we will work on them in the off-season to make next year even better!

Joey, maybe UTVUnderground could cover some of these races next year?

I also wanted to see what you WORCS guys thought of this short-course racing stuff?? I'd love to see the regular UTV classes grow and have you guys come out and join us for some races in 2013!! :)

Now.... it's dune season, and I am heading to the shop to prep my SR1 for some Thanksgiving dune shredding!! :)

Awesome! The UTV regional racing is super fun to watch!

Congrats to Jason!!!

and

Corry - 2012 Pro-4 Rookie of the year!

Corry, I sent Joey all of my photos of the heat races from unlimited and sr1 he will post them today from what he told me last night. I am sure he is working on it now. So there will be some cool photos of the action.

Oh very cool!! Looking forward to those! And thanks AZ Amsoil! :p

Cory I had the opportunity to run this weekend in the rzr class and im hooked. I will try not to speak for everyone in the rzr class but i know the group of 4 of us that came from Worcs really enjoyed ourselves. If LEE creates a STOCK MOTOR class we are there. I had the time of my life out there battling with STAGGS. We couldnt even follow Guthrie Jr. Kid was long gone. Thats a talented guy right there. Thanks for letting us come get some track time.

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH ABOVE :D I had a awsome time and plan to race this only next year and not worcs as long as they make it a stock motor class. I had awsome time batteling with Casey(rappy60guy) and trying to chase down the Guthri kid as well as everyone else in the class gave us all a good battle/race I am hooked!

I also had the chance to race LOORS Vegas, I had more fun in practice Friday than I had all season of the other series. Loved it. I got torn in the race but I was having so much fun sliding out of corners crossed up up the face of little kickers and hitting the huge jump in the back that It was hard to care. I do look forward to trying some different tires, and shock valving. I look forward to seeing the complete rule package put together for this class. I really see this taking off.
Seems all involved including my self are voting STOCK motors for this XP production class. Thanks to Lucas Oil, And Loan Mart for putting the races together.

Maybe wrong thread but how many classes do the regional series have? I was under the impression it was only sr1's.

We all thought it was an absolute blast! Boys raced the Trophykarts and loved it. SR1's were a blast to watch, I promised my wife ours will ready by March. It was cool to see how some of the other cars were built. The food provided by Select Glass was awesome.
Perfect weekend other than a little chilly.
Thanks to all who put it together. Tons of work by the regional directors and Lucas.
Hopefully it continues to grow.

I raced Baja,a couple of WORCS races, and all but 1 ASCC Lucas regional races this year and I love the short course racing.
WORCS is fun but the tracks are to tight and narrow to pass on.The Lucas tracks are wide and fast and super fun!It is way more affordable at the regional level and the people are great as well.
I really recommend trying it.Im not surprised that the WORCS guys liked it.

I'm glad you all liked it! Wish I could have watched more of your races than the tiny bit I could see from staging! When they come up online, I'll link them for you guys! :)

I do believe there is great interest in the stock class being just that - stock. The intention of that class is affordability and ease of getting into racing - stock motors are important to affordability. Our SR1 motors are stock for that same reason.....tired of spending money just to be competitive.

Hoping to see a whole pack of XPs next year - should be fun to watch you guys!

I am glad everyone came out and had fun. I apologize for the delay on a rule book, but give us a little more time and we will get something out soon. Keep e mailing and bugging me if you have questions. We have had to take on some extra work in the National Lucas series and have been really busy but we will get this class going strong next year.
The 2013 schedule should be out in the next couple of weeks.
