Rules and Regulations

GENERAL RULES:
The following rules and regulations are minimum requirements to participate in the Soboba Grand Prix event, failure to comply will be grounds for denial of participation or disqualification. Any questions regarding these rules and regulations must be presented before the start of the race or class in question.
1. Racers are responsible for the actions of their entire pit crew.
2. All racers must have a helmet, goggles, gloves, pants, long-sleeve shirt and boots that go over the ankles.
3. Events may be conducted regardless of weather conditions.
4. Soboba Grand Prix site/course/grounds are strictly prohibited other than race weekend.
5. All racers, machines and equipment must pass safety inspection prior to event and in addition may be tested during and after the event.
6. Absolutely no machine testing or practice, come ready to race.
7. All machines must be in good mechanical running order.
8. Pro racers may enter amateur class races but by doing forfeit scoring and placement of amateur race.
9. Riders must register for each race before riding their machine anywhere.
10. 1st gear-idle when traveling to/from staging area.
11. Helmet must be worn at all times.
CLASSES and ELIGIBILITY:
1. For all amateur classes, the age of the rider is determined as of the date of the event.
2. Youth Junior/Senior and Adult Lites, HvyWeight and Quad racers have sub classes as follows:
a. “Beginner” – 1st year racer or 1st year back from extended absence of racing.
b. “Novice” – 2 to 3 years of consecutive recent racing experience.
c. “Experienced” – 3 or more years of consecutive racing experience.
d. “Woman’s” – 16yrs up except youth classes
3. Racers must be older than 14yrs of age to compete on a bike bigger than 250cc.

COURSE:
1. No one, except officials and riders officially entered, may ride on the race course at any time during the event.
2. Racers will be disqualified for driving/riding on the course anytime other than there registered event times.
3. Warm-up riding is limited to the start area and only after an official has given permission and the rider has registered for the event.
4. If a racer leaves the course for any reason he/she will be disqualified.
5. Officials and course sweepers will be placed throughout the course anyone seen cutting or breaking rules will be black flagged and disqualified from their race.
6. In the event of a bottle neck or stoppage each racer must stay in their perspective position and follow official’s signals, a restart maybe required. Any seen hopping positions will be automatically disqualified.
7. The course will include natural/manmade terrain and be approximately 5-6 miles long.
8. Races will be “LIVE START-GREEN FLAG DROP”.
9. Course flaggers will be placed throughout the course and must be obeyed at all times.
10. Flagging colors are as follows;
10.1. Green – Go!
10.2. Yellow – Caution, Slow Down!
10.3. Black – Safely Pull Off Of The Course At The Scoring Shoot
10.4. Red – Stop!
10.5. Checkered – Race Has Ended
10.6. Caution and Red Tape – Slowdown Area!
11. First gear 5mph max through the scoring shoot area, anyone blowing the shoot will not be scored and disqualified!
PRO PITTING:
1. One pit pass will be issued to each racer at check in. Each pass will permit one pit vehicle and two crew members throughout the weekend. Vehicle can be taken to and from the pit area to haul tools, tires, parts, fuel etcetera; however, both crew members and pit vehicle must be in designated pit area before the start of each race and cannot leave until an official has declared the race over.
1.1. Pit vehicle cannot be registered in any event or be larger than an extended utility vehicle.
2. Due to space restrictions, no VIP’s, fans or spectators allowed in the pit area.
3. Radios maybe used from pit to racers but not racer to racer.
4. After each event your pit crew will be required to remove all equipment from the pit area unless racers have consecutive races.
5. Racers cannot receive mechanical assistance from anyone other than their pit crew at the pit area.
6. An official may assist in moving your machine to a safe location in the event of a break down, crew members will not be allowed on course to tow disabled machines. After each race an official will assist with moving your machine back to your team site.
7. Pit crews must stay behind barriers until racer has come to a complete stop before assisting.
8. Racer and crew are responsible for their area and must leave it clean.
QUADS:
1. Tethered kill switch required and will be tested at the start line.
2. Nerf bars are not required but recommended.
3. All class engine displacement requirements must be followed.
4. No one off or special made machine’s allowed, motor and matching frame combination model required.
5. Muffler/Silencers required (no sound or db).
6. 4x4 quads allowed as long as they meet displacement requirements.
BIKES:
1. All class engine displacement requirements must be followed.
2. No one off or special made machine’s allowed, motor and matching frame combination model required.
3. Muffler/Silencers required (no sound or db).
UTV Race will be SUNDAY Jan. 16th at 2:00PM entry fee is $120.00!!! It is the final race and the main draw!!! There will be a Fun Day Pre Run on Friday the 14th at 3:00PM, 1hr pre run cost is $40.00 per entry.
UTV Open Purse - 1st Place $4000.00, 2nd Place $2000.00, 3rd Place $1000.00, 4th Place $700. 5th Place, $500.00, 6th Place $250, 7th & 8th - ?

UTV:

2. Harnesses MANDATORY, No 3 Way stock seat belts
3. Side Protection MANDATORY, Full Nets OK, Door Bars atleast Shoulder Height WILL NOT NEED NETS, doors below shoulders MUST HAVE NETS
4. 1 Open Class, no segmented classes, run what ya brung!
5. Motor Swap UTV's OK, PRODUCTION BASED MASS PROODUCED UTV CHASSIS ONLY!
6. $10K UTV payout through 8th place!~
