SCORE PRO UTV 1 CLASS!!!

I just spoke with Art Savedra at SCORE. He stated they are not splitting the classes. PRO UTV will be 1 class, NA and Turbo Cars fighting it out. This pits the Natural Born Killers (my new term) against the New Turbo builds. Same numbering system 1900...

We are not going to race in BITD next year. We are going SCORE... This is where we wanted to be in the first place, so all good. See you at San Felipe with our Long Travel XPT4 Turbo Build...

This is the right decision for SCORE based on their entry numbers not being quite as strong as BITD.
At some point they may need to take another look at this.

Probably true, but speaking with Art, he was all about the simplification of the class. He was very clear that splitting the class would be too complex, confusing and hard to manage. PRO and Unlimited. Seems pretty simple. I totally get why people want a class split, after spending crazy money on an NA build, then a Turbo rips past you.

The one thing I will say is that Corey allowing people to replace their current motors with updated stock ones, is good for the sport. You can do an NA to Turbo Swap for $5100 motor, $2100 Trans, $1200 Front Diff, $1000 harness, $650 ECU, $1600 radiator/intercooler all in one plus fabrication for the deeper transmission, driveshaft and mounting. It is not insane money to get to a Turbo. I think that BITD is going to have to rethink their strategy sooner than SCORE. PRO and Unlimited is the future in my opinion.

BTW, ART, what a nice freaking guy. He is in the middle of getting ready for the 1000 and he does a 30 minute face time with me, a NOOB Team Owner, going over the plan, the reasons, asking me my thoughts and just friendly as can be. Looking forward to meeting him in person when he does our inspection in December.

Does the 5100 motor package include clutches?

It was for a "complete" power plant, I am not sure if clutch assembly was included. I think so. We bought a turbo donor car and are cutting it up now. I called a dealer and ask what it would take to get the parts to put the donor back together. They listed off the parts and prices. I have an email into my parts guy to find out. Will let you know.

Not cheap, but cheaper than going to Class 10.

Problem is 3 years from now that class 10 will still be legal and competitive in class 10 in any of the 5-6 series around. Guarantee your car will not be!

Ha. Good point... In 3 years there will be a 300HP, Sequential 8 speed that runs on bio-diesel as fast as thing are changing in UTV product development... Touché...
