Ruined a bighorn, now what to do?

ah can't do anything about rocks in a river.

unless you equip your UTV with SOnar.... hmmm

Well it is a dry river bottom full of nothing but sand and the occasional rock which I happened to find doing 50+ at night with not enough lights. Better lighting is on my list of thing to get too.

Went for about 25 miles today for the first ride and boy do they bite! I ran them at 10psi all around and they rode ok, I might go lower as they don't flex very much at all on the rocks. It was a mixture of washes, trails and hill climbs with some soft sand. First two things I noticed my JX will power slide better and it doesn't push into turns like it used to. You turn the wheel and you can feel the car wants to push but the tires grip and it just turns better. It does slide better now with the 10's on the rear but it didn't seem to affect the side hill capability. My bighorns didnt feel any better than these for now it seems like they are about the same, but more miles will tell me for sure. On hard pack with loose gravel they felt just fine steering input still felt responsive. As to be expected with narrower rear tires it didn't float as good in sand but when I would gas it it seemed to dig in and go. Overall so far I like them, they do bite and can through a lot of rocks that's for sure. My next test will be a 30-40 mile loop with dunes, desert trails and some rocks thrown in, after that I will take it to the rocks for some crawling to see how they do in rock gardens.
I didn't take it easy on them, sliding around turns and climbing rocky hills in 2wd.

Not much flex at 10 but still seemed to grip well.

Very nice. I think these will be my next tire, if I ever wear out my motoclaws. I was nervous about going 10s all the way around thinking it might be more tipsy on off camber but I really cant tell a difference and it handles so much better with 10s all around.

I went on a 50 mile loop around town and hit just about everything I could. They handle well in just about every situation. The rear end can kick out on demand and on side hills I feel it is about the same as the big horns, the rear will slide down sometimes. On the sand dunes I played on they seemed to do great. It seemed like they really clawed their way up the sand better than the bighorns. On high speed trails the front handled like its on rails while if you. On the gas the rear would power slide very nicely through the turn. In the rocks with 9psi they had some flex and I could tell I had more GC which was nice. They had no issues climbing over rocks as I negotiated my way through.

In the second half of my trip I went about 8 miles on a graded power line road with twist and turns and it was a blast no pushing in the turns and slide when I wanted. The desert sure was green after the storms we had a while back and a lot of trails were washed out and very rough.

Clearance wise I did have to trim the mounts for the mudflaps off since they rubbed.

Overall I am still happy with them. Rear side hill stability could be better I think but in every other situation they handled awesome. I did have a 1/4 stick stuck in one tire but it didn't go through just stayed in the outer rubber of the carcass. I am also going to re clutch it as I lost a few hundred rpms and it didn't like the river bottom on the way home. So a dalton kit is in my future.
