Rugged Radio RM-25R 25 watt Radio

has anyone have any experience with this radio? Is the speaker on the unit loud enough to hear while on the go. Opinions wanted. I don't want to run a helmet kit if possible.

Pretty cool little compact radio for the money (when on sale) I know someone who mounted one in a sand/play/prerun buggy. Even with only a VW engine I don't see how you could hear clearly when on the move, especially with a helmet on. I don't know of any radio loud enough with or without a helmet that you would hear a radio with the wind, engine and just general noises when running. When parked, no problem. In a sealed cab like your pick up, again no problem.

I just installed a RM25 and intercom in my yxz1000. Works great so far.
Even if the radio audio was loud enough for you to hear, when you key up the mike the wind noise will drown out your voice. With a helmet on I doubt you will be able to use the mike.
The helmet kit is easy to install and works great. Or you can always use a headset with mike. On sale thru Xmas as well.
