Buffalo Bills WORCS ATV & UTV Race Report

Primm, Nevada, February 26-27, 2011
National Guard Coastal Yokley Racing ATV Team rider Jarrod McClure finished 8th overall in the Pro ATV class today in Round 2 of the 2011 WORSC Series. National Guard Polaris Coastal DragonFire Yokley Racing Team driver William Yokley finished 3rd in the Side by Side Class 1 UTV class, and National Guard Polaris Coastal Yokley Racing Team driver Scott Kiger finished 7th in the same class after experiencing mechanical problems.

Summary
The National Guard Coastal Yokley Racing team made the trip to Primm, Nevada for Round 2 of the 2011 WORCS series. Cold weather, high winds and snow greeted the team at the Buffalo Bills race course located 35 miles south of Las Vegas. The UTV race was run partly on the short Trophy Truck course with many jumps and turns, and partly in the desert with lots of sand whoops and high speed areas.

The 45 minute UTV race started out very good for the National Guard Coastal Yokley Racing team, running 3rd and 4th through lap 3 of the 4 lap race. Scott Kiger was comfortably running right with the top 2 UTVs, and was planning to kick the pace up on the final lap. On lap 4 Kiger’s drive belt failed and he was forced out of the race, finishing in 7th position. This was much unexpected, as drive belts are virtually unbreakable. Yokley inherited 3rd position and finished the race there. William Yokley was accompanied by guest passenger David “Bird” Phillips, who does much of the machine work for Doug Roll at Roll Design. The new Polaris RZRs performed well today, and Yokley is now leading the season points. The UTV Team now looks forward to the opening round of the GNCC UTV Series in Aonia Pass, Georgia on March 12.

The National Guard Coastal Yokley Racing ATV was looking to improve on the results from Round 1. Team rider Jarrod McClure’s wrist injury had improved, and he had been training and riding in California. Jarrod got a great start in this 90 minute race, and was running in 2nd position for the first few turns. He ran in the top five for next 3 laps. When he came in for a fuel stop, his bike was running rough and seemed down on power. The crew checked the air filter and found that it was clogged with dirt and sand. They made a quick change, but he had lost time and was much farther back in the pack. Jarrod rode well and worked his way back up to 8th place at the finish. He was pumped that he was able to run with the top guys today, and now sits in 8th place in the season points. Jarrod’s next ATV race is Round 1 of the GNCC ATV Series in River Ranch Florida on March 6.

It's a press release from "the team mentioned". It was obviously written by someone on the team, or paid by the team for the promotion of the team. Why would they talk about other teams???

Chad I would be happy to run any press release with photos but this is the only thing I have received surrounding the race at this point in terms of a formal press release....I just wanted to get something up. We try our hardest to be fair and unbiased round here.

Racers need to step it up and help promote themselves. Joey and I will do our best to get your information up. Even if you can't get any action shots, at least get a picture of you and your car before the race. It doesn't need to be any super high resolution image from a super duper camera either. Even a shot from a phone is better than nothing.

Then tell us your race recap! Tell us about your prep and race. Pimp your sponsors.

The info on the Yokley team came from them and also Polaris. Nothing stopping any other racer from doing the same.
