PARAMOUNT MOTORSPORTS FIRST TIME OUT RUN DOWN
Paramount Motorsports is back from the first Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series event of the 2011 season. The team is “really happy” about their first time out and feels “we are definitely right there and will be a contender all year”.

03/24/11 Alpine, CA- Paramount Motorsports is back home after a long weekend at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, AZ for Rounds 1 & 2 of the LOORRS. It was Ryan Beat’s first race in the #51 Pro Lite and Bryan Osborn’s first race in the #854 SR1 Rhino.

Beat qualified 4th and due to the inversion started on the pole in a field of drivers that have been at this for years. Unfortunately, while running 4th both days, the #51 had mechanical problems. On Saturday, we had a misfire which took us out of the competition but with the help and expertise from Danny Crower with Crower Performance we were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem. On Sunday, after fiercely battling from 7th to 4th, the transmission broke and was stuck in 3rd gear. Beat continued to drive the race but suffered a broken axle and rear end after a collision. He was able to nurse it and finish the race 9th place out of 15 drivers. Ryan Beat stated, “Mickey Thompson was helping all weekend with the tire groove. What we learned from them will carry us through the season.”

Bryan Osborn, driving the #854 SR1 Rhino, had the 4th fastest time in his class during Friday’s practice which was pretty impressive only completing two laps. The SR1 suffered a broken ball joint causing it to roll in turn two on lap three. In Saturday’s race, Osborn started at the back of a field of twelve due to missing qualifying the previous day. By lap five he had battled his way up to 7th. On lap 12 he got caught in a rut on turn three and unable to recover, he rolled the #854 SR1 Rhino hard. With the help of many dedicated people, they were able to get the #854 back on the track in time for Sunday’s race but missed qualifying. The old “Flying Banana” had a bent rear axle and was stuck in second gear, but Bryan drove it from 11th to a 5th place finish, completing the race for points. Crew Chief Kenny Frost would like to give a special thanks to the crews of Robby Woods and Carl Renezeder and the Rahders family for getting parts and equipment to get the #854 back on the track.

The team at Paramount Motorsports is proud of the weekend’s accomplishments. Kenny Osborn of Paramount Motorsports stated, “We are definitely right there and will be a contender all year. This weekend was a learning experience for the team and we came away much stronger. The camaraderie on the team is incredible. Even though the Paramount Motorsports #3 Pro 4 wasn’t running events this weekend, the entire crew; Eric Barron, Kelly Weitzel and Chris Hawks, came out to the track to get their hands dirty with the rest of us. They were a huge help.” Before the upcoming LOORRS Rounds 3 & 4, which take place April 16-17 at Speedworld in Surprise, AZ, the team will be working hard on fixing the #51 Pro Lite and the #854 SR1 Rhino and working out all the bugs. They are also re-evaluating the #51 Pro Lite’s engine package making the decision whether to go with more horsepower, one thing for sure Crower Performance will be part of any future plans. The team is confident Paramount Motorsports will be up front at Speedworld! More thanks go out to all on the crew who gave it their all this weekend and everyone at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series for making it all happen!
