Even though entries for the Cal-City GP do not open until November 24th, AVE has already received its first entry from Dave Garber, the 71-year-old stuntman from Simi Valley, who used to tear up the Southern California deserts back in the day. He's found new life by entering his 2014 Polaris RZR in the Sportsman 1000 UTV category of the Cal-City GP, which this year will take place Saturday, December 27, 2014 (Friday is reserved to pick up wrist bands, numbers and sign documents). Garber is so excited to be in competition once again and especially returning to Cal-City, that he can't wait.

The 2nd Annual Return of a Classic, The CAL-CITY GP will feature a full day of racing starting Saturday, at 8 a.m. with the 30, 40 & 50 Classes. Quads follow next at 9:30 a.m.. Then Women, 60+ and 85cc 14 to 16 year-old take the stage at 11:00 a.m.
High Noon marks the time for the Pro MC Classes to take off first, followed by Open, 250 and 125 Classes ranging from Expert, Novice and Beginners. All racers must have an AMA Competition license to compete.

The starts will be on a paved street using the "dead engine" method and by rows according to entry post-mark.

The last event of the afternoon will be the PRO & SPTS UTV Classes as everyone will negotiate the 14.6-mile course. Competitors in the UTV Classes must have a FUTVI (Formula UTV International) license to compete.

Later Saturday night, at 7 p.m. awards will be held, which will include the year-end awards from the PURE UTV Series.

This year's course features a few new sections added to last year's course to make it even more challenging and fun.
Racers with multiple entries will get discounts as will District Clubs and Other AMA Clubs when a minimum of ten entries are sent together. Huge savings that way.
Everyone is also required to have the California City OHV License. You can purchase a yearly license for $15.00 or a weekend one for just $5.00.
There will also be free overnight parking for paid entrants at the nearby "Drop Zone" located inside Norm Hill Aviation property across from the airport. From there there is easy access to the "staging" and "start" lines.

For more information, and a peek at the proposed GP course go to: www.averacing.com. You can also contact AVE at info@averacing.com for additional details.
