I'm new to this forum thing. Originally from socal so i grew up riding jawbone, dove springs, spangler. I'm up in the bay area now and need new places to ride and a group to ride with. Thinking about heading around reno for a few days soon. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site! Lots of good riding up and around the Reno vicinity. Of course not far away is the Rubicon Trail but also look up riding around Washington City which is not too far from Donner. I know there is lots of areas to rip outside of Gardnerville.
