<style type="text/css">p { margin-bottom: 0.08in; }a:link { }</style> FORMULA DESERT LITES is looking for a few good men and women UTV racers to come out and give us feedback while logging some desert racing miles in the Alta Vista Events SUPERCOURSE series. The next event is OCTOBER 23 in California City. I went out with Lou Peralta aka Lucho in his jeep to check out this truly perfect area to race. This event has two fifty mile laps of some awesome desert terrain, its a mixture of whooped out sections, fast smooth roads, hills, washes and just enough rocky sections to keep you honest. Lucho is not your average promoter, he cares what we think, and wants to lay out the courses to fit us. Trust me promoters like Lucho are few and far between. Thats why we are going about this in this way, we want to make the series next year be something special. Just Like FORMULA DESERT LITES wants your input on the rules, ALTA VISTA EVENTS wants your input on the courses and we want you to leave here happy with your experience racing time after time. UTV's have raced this series in the past, but this will be the first time under the FDL rules and tech. I am looking for up to five vehicles from each of the classes to commit to this next event and the December race, by doing it in this way we are insuring a truly memorable series next year. In addition to the FDL moto powered buggy and utv classes, we are planning on having an ecotec class. I will be performing pre race tech on the vehicles, if you would like to have your tech done prior to the event just in case something needs to be handled, you can contact me and we can set that up. I need to hear from interested racers asap so we can start putting the list of teams that will have a say in this new series.

FORMULA DESERT LITES has four classes for UTV's five if you are such an outlaw that you don't fit the other four classes.

STOCK this means truly stock with a few items for safety.
SUPER STOCK same as stock but with the addition of after market suspension kits.
MOD this is pretty much the industry standard as far as BITD etc.
UTV 1000 this is very close to the R1 class

And for the rebels who just don't want to fit in you can run in either FORMULA 1200 against 1200cc max moto powered buggies or FORMULA MOTO for the real degenerate mod guys, this is run what ya brung but drivers vote on allowing you.

Looks interesting. Am I ok to run in stock class with aftermarket shocks and a 4 seat cage? Other than that I'm all stock. I don't want to put a fuel cell in my family wagon.
