Needing some direction

My name is Gary I own Impact Fabs. We do the mud side of the ATV/UTV world. Reason I am here is to get everything in order to run the 2013 Vegas to Reno race. We plan on running 2 RZR's in one of the two pro classes. Class is dependent on what I learn in the next couple of months of design. We will do all the fabrication in house, motor work done at a sponsors shop. I am looking for much guidance and help because desert racing is new to us. I never just ask for anything for free so I will help out those who help us. I know time is short even for the time that we have to get ready. We know that finishing the race is priority one but we want to be competitive. Mainly we want to have some damn fun.

Well i got the opportunity to pit crew v2r last year and i can say you need to be prepared for anything. Hard to say anything but i can say you need at least 2 chase trucks that alternate between pits and you need tools tires and parts in both trucks. We seen a guy last year go through 8 belts i believe to get to the finish line. Tires rims a arms. Shocks. Cvs and axles, It takes alot to the finish line. We had a ton of stuff and we made it to about mile 350. Take the time to check fluids at at least every other pit. Good luck its a blast for sure

Lots of prep, both on the car and logistical. We have to run 3 chase trucks for sure...especially toward the end of the race as you just can't cover them all with two. As stated, you can never have too many spare parts. Good luck and hope to see your there!

Great information. I see the trend in the support vehicles. 8 belts is alot, seems excessive but these are the items that I am sure I will learn thru research or more the hard way.I apreciate this information. Have a burnt to a crisp rzr to go pick up.Tear it down to the frame.

Does any one have or know where to get a dxf or just the dimensions of the xp frame?

Keep it simple if you want to finish. Do the basics and you will have a car finish and do a xp4 you will have more room and build will be cheaper. On your drawing call dragon fire. Call me if you have any other questions or just want to chat good luck 623-486-5925 rito
