Polaris NEED engine help/advice....

Hoping someone can help out as I can finally get my car back together.... I have a 12' RZR XP that I blew my motor in.... Now here is where I could use the help, the replacement 900 for my motor is not an option any longer (stolen) so I'm back to square 1... but had a couple questions before I decide my route, 1st, would you go back to the 11-12 900 motor or would you try and find a 13-14 900 and why would you choose this route? Also, 2nd question, do any of you have or know someone that wants to get rid of their 900 motor? maybe looking to do a motor swap? I personally don't want to do a motor swap because I hope to enter a couple races when the time allows and I'd at least like to keep my options open on the class I can enter. thanks ahead of time for any replies as I was hoping to be ready for new years, but that's a far cry now...

garrett didnt vacho have a engine out of his?

"STOLEN" from shop... I was going to buy it but he called me with bad news earlier this week :(

heres a 11-12 motor,, ebay ending soon

http://www.ebay.com/itm/7933-2012-1...Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item461752638f

they do have another and get more all the time,, they buy wrecked ones and part them out

I've seen these listings... they even had a jagged x motor last week, but I thought I had a motor... I also wonder the exact condition.. these are salvaged RZR's that they buy and tear down... so nobody knows true condition...

I believe they fixed the starter area on the new wet sump cars.....BUT...I believe there is a couple of extra sensors...and would require more parts to get it back together and running.

the starter area does bother me on the 11-12 motors... but i had over 2k on mine with no problems(except for rod bearing failure probably due to burning oil) didn't realize they could burn it up that quickly  and my cousin has probably about 3k without a single problem.... it's like it's hit or miss on the 11-12's and I'm glad you mentioned extra sensors on the 13's... I had no clue, I figured just the trans/diff adapter and maybe a connector or two??? I'll have to do some more research

Is your motor junk or just needs a crank and rods?

I took it to the dealership thinking it would be covered under the warranty, it wasn't... they said everything was garbage... Had a buddy look at it that builds engines and said crank was too bad to use and 1 rod shot, everything else seemed salvageable but if I could afford to replace some crucial parts... I got a crank from trey at mcx and started looking into the rest of the parts and having trouble getting some of them...Then the issues I hear people having with the starter and not being a motor guy I just about gave up on rebuilding mine... Seems I can possibly find a running motor for around the same $$$ as I would spend rebuilding mine??? Kinda why I had the questions about the 13-14 motors.. Now, if I rebuilt mine I could go for a little more performance :D , but that's obviously an added cost...

I have a good turbo motor out of a 13 that's fully built if your interested.. Has all the bells and whistles.. 550 total miles and 240 or close to on the new internals.. I have a thread on rzr fourm with details

You didn't mention putting the 1000 engine in. I seen a thread on another forum awhile back. He was doing just that. Allot of people brought up good points and he had good answers to every question. Sounds like he thought it out pretty good. I didn't follow the thread thought to see how it went. He was going to use all the 900 parts on it. Throttle bodies, Ecu ect. It might not make the full 107hp with smaller Tb's and different program on the ecu but it should make more then the 900.

IF you still have your motor, i would say build it. unfortunately not as cost effective as buying a used runner or ebay motor but then you know what you have. We have put a few muzzy kits on the 12 motors and they haul ass.pair that with a little clutch work and you will be able to race alongside the new 1k's if not blow their doors off.
