For those of you that wandered up the parking lot and took a look through Mike's 14" Dobsonian Telescope on Saturday night, here's a little bit to think about. The picture below is a composite from the Hubble Space Telescope. It is about 2.5 arcminutes wide (approximately the half the width of your baby finger held at arms length). When you look at this and realize that everything you see in the picture which is just 1/24,000,000 of the sky and they are all Galaxies like our own Milky Way, do you really think we are still alone? I'm glad Mike had the telescope up there, it made it pretty awesome....
