I have an 06 prowler that will start right up and run but after 10 mins of run time it will cut off. I cleaned the carb replaced the fuel pump a week ago. After 10 mins it will spark up only when spraying carb choke cleaner in the air box. I did recognize the radiator fan kicking on fairly quick but coolant level doesnt seem to be dropping. I like working on engines myslef and cant afford to take it in. I dont get it. Bad fuel? Bad radiator? Bad something I havent even heard of? Please help

The ten min. is that running parked or driving ?
Does it seem like it's overheating and there is a internal shut off ?
Could it be vapor loc?

Just throwing stuff out there really I don't know but it might help anyway .

Thats driving time. Not pegged down but just around the neighborhood. It sucks cause I get stranded out in BFE. Im going to take a hose to the radiator tomorrow but if it was the radiator wouldnt it be using excessive coolant? Im new to the whole UTV thing but been riding ATV's my whole life. I dont think the fuel line is getting hot enough for vapor loc but I will double check. I dont understand why it would run with carb choke cleaner....

Is the ride new or new to you or has it been sitting for a time ??

I think you said it has a carb , could the float be sticking probably not but just throwing thing at the wall and see what sticks.

Have you checked the plugs ?

Does it have a thermostat that might stick and over heat and the ecu shuts the motor off ?I'm sure some will chime in who had the same problem .

Went back to your first post and reread that you cleaned the carb.

I would check sensors. I have a rzr s that was having similar problems. After hours of trying to figure it out I took it to the dealer. Found out the crank shaft positioning sensor had gone out. As soon as they replaced it the thing ran like a charm again.

Its an 2006 Arctic Cat Prowler 650xt. The guy I got it from took "ok" care of it. I just dont know much about the machine. No manuel ect. Ill check the float and see, but when I cleaned them everything was in working order. I dont see why it would run while spraying the carb cleaner in it though.... If its a sensor would it still do that? Or if it was overheating would i still be able to do that? It doesnt have a thermostat but the radiator looks rough. Thanks guys I really appreciate the help.

The funny thing about my sensor problem was the car would run awesome for like 10 min. Than would shut off or run like crap. If I let it sit a while it would fire back up and run for 10 min again. I didn't try carb cleaner in the throttle body but I'm sure it would have made it run better for a second but it's obviously not fixing anything. Maybe find someone who can run a diagnostic on it. That's what mine took to figure it out. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Ill see what i can find out when I get home after I clean out the radiator. Its always the smallest imperfections that you overlook that seem to make the biggest difference. Any other ideas would help too!

Well after a quick peak at the radiator, there was a metal mesh guard followed by what it looked like pool cage screening held on by multiple zip ties lol. After removing that garbage the fins on the radiator looked really beat up....I think this might be the problem and causing it to overheat. Thoughts?
