Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Helps Open Over 45 Miles Of Trails

The Lyin King

Public Lands Advocate
"Supporters of the Great Lakes Four Wheel Drive Association (GLFWDA) recently assisted the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) in re-designation of over 45 miles of off-road trails from "ORV Trails" to "ORV Routes" on Drummond Island. This new designation will open 45 miles of trails to full-size vehicles, such as Jeeps, Toyotas, Hummers, etc. "These trails are now opened to all motorized vehicles, not just a select few", stated Mike Olmstead, member of GLFWDA and Local Coordinator for the Drummond Island Jeep Jamboree."

Over sixty GLFWDA members where in attendance to help re-designate these trails. These members volunteered their time and money to help the DNR successfully achieve their goal of route designation. The Greats Lake Four Wheel Drive Association deserves a huge pat on the back".
