GORS Race Report Round 6
We at GORS would like to thank all the drivers and spectators who came out this weekend for Round 6 at Palmetto. This round was without a doubt the best racing we have had. The course was the perfect length and the spectators got to see the racers battle all day.
GORS introduces our first ever Quad races This weekend and we are looking forward to more quad riders in the future. They put on a great show and got a taste of see what a full course Mx and off road section was like.
Moto 1 was packed with lead changes and great racing in all of the classes. In the end it was #111 T Snell, #52 Anonny, and #33 Steedley on the box for the 1000 class. In the 850 class, it was #35 Herrel and hot on his heels #112 S Snell.
In Moto 2, Santana #112 (850class), got the hole shot and would keep the lead until lap 5 when a spider got a hold of her and she had to pull over. Santana continued to close the gap on Herrel #35, but he was driving a very smart and commanding race and would hold off Santana to take the overall win.
1000 Class Moto 2: With $800 cash on the line, the 1000 Class racers were prepped and ready, and they did not disappoint, there was excitement everywhere on the track. Kilowatt #17 in his xp 900 was off to a commanding lead but had to pull into the pits on lap 7 with an overheating machine. This devastation for #17 would move #111 T Snell to the lead. The guys began to take pit stops around lap 12, #52 would take the lead only to be passed by #306 Micheal Stewrat because of his fast pitting and only taking 2 gal of gas .
Heading into the 2nd half of Moto 2, all #111 needed to do was finish ahead of #52 and he would take the overall win for the day and the $800. On lap 13, #111 T Snell turned the car over on a tight corner allowing #52 to pass him while he was on this side, but Snell did not give up, he got the car turned back over and drove his heart out. It appeared that # 52 had 2nd place in the bag as he took a white flag, however, he didn’t get more than five more jumps and he broke a belt. T Snell #111 would return the pass on the track to secure 2nd place in Moto 2 and take the overall win for the day.
We are so proud of all the races and we want to give special thanks for putting on such an amazing race for all of us.
Thank you to all of our sponsors Muzzy’s , GBC, Rugged radio, Top dog awards and Wyatt Racing
