If anyone buys this Cognito Teryx, and races it next season in BITD, i will payout to the buyer, $250 for a win and $100 for second, as long as there is at least 4 cars entered in the class for that race.

Plus all the free stickers they can sneak on your grandma's walker!

I have mixed feelings about this new class. I get there will be a need for a class to let older smaller CC cars compete. But I think it is premature in the UTV class. The UTV class is just starting to take off and get good entry numbers, yet now you have diluted & split the class. So instead of 20+ cars in one class you will now see 5-10 in one and the rest in another. That is not a good thing.

I get guys like the John Deere team want a class where they can be more competitive, but starting a new class to fit their vehicle better is not the answer. It was thier choice to take a work machine and build a race car with it.

Division within a class has never shown positive results in the past. BajaJX started a thread about trying to get more entry's at the Score races. Splitting classes and having seporate rules will not be helping.

Amigo...I don't even know you but I happen to agree with 90% of what you say. Daaaaaum!

My guess is that it will be a struggle to get five 850 Pro teams to commit to a full six race schedule for BITD in this class. For a few races, yes...but not for the entire series.

BTW...if someone wanted to TOTALLY DOMINATE this class they need to find the dude who bought the Baja Bobsled (it's in Oklahoma) and bring it back west and have Jason from Bar-T prep it. That thing would still easily be a top 5 car in the 1000 class but would spank the 850 class.

With several racers moving to SCORE, which in my opinion is the premier series, BITD is probably looking to keep their car count's up. If this gets old race cars dusted off and out here racing I don't see a problem. Its not like they are going to spend 50k in this economy and build a new race car.

If anyone wants to get out and race this is a great way to do it. Lots of older cars and even new models can be built and race on a lower budget. I don't think this will dilute the class since there is only 1 800 currently. If anything this could be a feeder to the 1000 class. We also have a pretty rock solid commander that could run w an 800 and do pretty awesome in this class. Maybe need to bring it out and see what happens.

I don't think it will hurt pro class because anybody that was under 900cc was running sportsman. so I hope that means no more sportsman class. maybe this will pull some guys from worcs series.

I'm new to the forum, but have been around racing! I used to race a R1 powered dual sport in a few local events, but sold it. I got tired of having to fabricate parts all time. I purchased two Joyner sand vipers sometime ago, an 1100 and a 800. I know, I know Chinese junk! I hear it all the time, even after I tow them back! lol. Look because of the new 850 class I'm getting off the couch, and into the game! And I bet it will bring a lot more people of the couch a nd into racing! The trophy truck, and class 1 guys still call us golf carts, so anything to draw out more people to the sport is a good thing! For UTV to place 31 overall in Baja was huge! I am scrambling to get ready for the first race, but I am going race!

Thats cool. There are quite a few of them out there but you don't really see them racing. It would be great to see another brand out there duking it out. I've looked at them but never ridden in or driven one. How do you think your 800 compares to the other stuff under 850 cc's? I knew a guy that had a single seater Redline and that thing flat out got some!

Out of the box they do ok at best, they are heavy for the horse power. With a few mods you can get pretty decent performance out of them. The real advantage is being able to hold top speed longer than a belt driven UTV. My 800 tops out at 70mph on the gps. The wide stance allows you to hit the hard turns with confidence.
