So I have somehow become a friend of Marc Burnetts and im sure its just because I fell sorry for the guy but heres a little bit of our last conversation ..
Fade In:
he calls and says hey man whats up hows that new alternator kit your working on coming ?
I say what the fuck do you want ?
he says how did it work at the IV 250 Race ?
I say I worked great pre running but we didnt run it during the race we had some problems
he says when you going to send me one you need a real racer to test it ill put a 1000 miles on it in a day yada yada
I say you dont even have a RZR as visions of cheech and chongs up in smoke dance thru my head
he says send me one I need it right away for the Baja 1000
I say why would I send you one im racing against you in the Baja 1000 why would I wana help you ?
I say hey on a serious note your not going to run those RCV axles on your car for the Baja 1000 are you ?
he says yes mine are differnt they are special they are bad ass !!
I say well the last guy that ran them didnt go 25 miles befor they started melting
he says his are better and we end up betting 1000.00 that he will not finish the baja 1000 with the same axles and boots that he starts the race with !!
then he says hey we need to bet on the race Too ! I think to myself really ? your season has sucked and you wana bet on the biggest race of the year ? ok I say im in for another 1000.00 on who goes further !
He says he is in ! Mind you the guy does not currently own a desert race RZR
Then he has his guy call last night and ask if he should build the car planning on the kit or no kit .. I tell him to plan on no kit ! but I leave a bit of a maybe thinking I should build him a special kit !
Today he sends me a message with a link to his song to me for the Baja 1000
