According to the chatter on Pirate, the injuries seem to be quite a bit more serious than stated above fwiw. The only thing I have to say/ask is...was the course as poorly marked this year as the last couple of years? I honestly think the course markings in the past have been horribly dangerous, just wondering if that could have been part of the issue here (I certainly assume it is).
A dropoff like that would have had a minimum of three seperate sets of danger markers in any BITD course, along with GPS marking to show the dangers. That being said, I know most KOH competitors pre-run the course multiple times, so they DEFINATELY should have marked their own GPS with a warning in that spot. Just thought I'd throw in my .02 to see what others thought re: course marking at KOH.
